PWInsider:

Director Kevin Smith revealed he and long-time cohort Jay Mewes were supposed to appear on the debut of Friday Night Smackdown but were disinvited after appearing on the debut episode of AEW Dynamite. Smith noted he was invited to Dynamite by AEW Champion Chris Jericho, who will be one of the top villains in the forthcoming Jay & Silent Bob Reboot:

“The first casualty of the Wrestling War was Jay and Silent Bob.” - @AEWrestling Champion Chris Jericho. Watch me and my #JayAndSilentBobReboot co-star talk about what happened after @JayMewes and I appeared on the debut ep of @AEWonTNT! https://t.co/h0rI0Q9WJ7

Interesting stuff:

Conrad Thompson, via his company Toot Toot LLC, is now the owner of the Four Horsemen trademark for - Entertainment services, namely, wrestling exhibits and performances by a professional wrestler and entertainer.

Conrad Thompson isn't actually employed by AEW, but I think the fact that the Horsemen trademark is owned by someone decidedly aligned with the company is quite interesting. Especially with Tully and Arn on the company payroll. Will we see another Four Horsemen revival in AEW at some stage? Would anyone in 2019 even want to?

So I never noticed this before I heard this last week on Jim Cornette's podcast.

Jim and his co-host Brian Last were reviewing the first AEW show and they goofed on the fact that Nick Jackson of The Young Bucks is going bald.

As I said, I never noticed him balding before, but OMG, when watching the show last night that is all I could focus on. He looks like one of the Elves from The Lord Of The Rings.

Freaking Cornette has ruined The Young Bucks for me lol. I will now focus on Nick's hairline. He should wear a headband like his brother Matt does. It would help his look tremendously. Unfortunately I do not think he has the type of body frame that would make a shaved head look good. I don't know what he will do in a couple more years. Maybe if he gets jacked on roids and tanned up he could rock the shaved head respectably.

You need Flair obviously, which is possible given his lawsuit against WWE and his general ungratefulness and willingness to do anything for a buck.  But what the fuck would you possibly do with a Four Horsemen of Flair, Arn, and Tully in 2019?  Even if you try to give some young guys the rub with the name, I just don't see the value.  I think AEW is going to be just fine with the Inner Circle.

If I was Conrad, I'd just design a bunch of shirts for ProWrestlingTees.com and profit off the name that way.  People would buy them.

Conrad did it for Flair.  Now if WWE uses the name they need to pay him.  Maybe he will try to trademark WOOOOOOOO next.  And is Arn actually employed by them?  I don't know if he's a backstage hand or not, but it appears that Tully is since he traveled to Boston last night.

Yes Arn officially works for AEW now.

I am surprised that WWE didn't have that trademark locked up already. Did they have it previously and lapsed on it when it came time to re-new?

I would guess yes since they marketed the Ric Flair and The Four Horseman DVD in 2007.

Flair via his LLC applied for the Wooo trademark in May of this year. It's still in process and has yet to be registered.

Conrad's entity applied in March. It also has yet to be registered.

AEW has come to terms with Taz to be a commentator on at least one edition of AEW Dark when they are in Philly this week. They’ve promised he will also make an in-ring appearance, although its unclear if that will happen on Wednesday live or on Dark.  Taz appeared to be upset on Twitter that he wasn’t invited to the Smackdown premiere on FOX and now this.

I listened to the first couple of Arn Anderson podcasts with Conrad this week. I was very pleasantly surprised. I have only ever heard Arn kayfabe, long after everyone else was happy to talk about the inner workings of the business. He's completely candid on this show, and his serious manner seems to have rubbed off on Conrad, and there's none of the goofy bullshit that I hated about the Bruce Prichard show. I was disappointed that Conrad didn't bring up the toupee incident, though.

The latest episode covering the "My Spot" promo and Arn's retirement may be the best and most insightful story of anything I've ever heard.. From the physical pain he endured and him seriously contemplating taking his own life to the pain and embarrassment he felt emotionally when the NWO did their parody mocking his speech and making him look like nothing but a drunk in front of his wife and kids. Very powerful stuff.

Cody announced this afternoon that former ECW World Champion Taz will appear as a guest broadcaster on this Wednesday's AEW Dynamite TV taping, which will emanate from Philadelphia, a city he has a LOT of history. Taz will take part in calling bouts that will air on the 10/22 AEW Dark episode:

One of the gimmicks a few I know have worked in the last few years. Is for people to trademark things they think WWE would want to use sometime in the future. When the time comes, they sell the rights of it to WWE for a good chunk of change.

A friend did this recently and got a nice 5 figure payday from it.

I had friends who used to do this with registering domain names in the early 2000s. For the most part they wound up losing money.
