PWInsider is reporting that Johnny Impact's contract with Impact expired weeks ago and the two sides haven't been able to come to terms on a new deal.  Johnny agreed to work last night's Slammiversary PPV anyway, which really saved Impact since he was in the co-main event.  The two sides continue to negotiate but Johnny is free to go elsewhere, and he's looked absolutely awesome the with Lucha Underground and now Impact, so any company would be lucky to have him.  He's way too good to be stuck in Impact.

Taya is signed through the end of the year.

I can’t see him signing with WWE. I just feel he’s not happy with how everything went down there.

He also wants the latitude to pursue his own projects in Hollywood, which they’ll never give him. But he really does deserve one last run on the biggest stage. He’s better now than he was last time he was there.

PWInsider is now reporting that LAX may have finished up at Slammiversary too. Their contract expires in a few weeks and Impact made it a top priority to re-sign them but haven’t gotten it done. Needless to say, Impact is the top singles act and LAX the top tag act for the last year plus, so losing them all the same day would just be brutal for a company with so little depth as it is.

Meltzer is reporting that Johnny Impact still considers acting his top priority and therefore is leaning towards trying to work something out with Impact under their current agreement that he can basically come and go as he pleases. Impact allowed him to leave for more than 2 months to film “Survivor”, which Johnny was really hoping would launch him in Hollywood (but time has passed and that didn’t really happen). WWE and AEW are both interested in him, but would not allow him all the time off. But on the other hand, the money difference between what WWE/AEW can offer and what Impact can offer is so vast that Johnny may be convinced to just take the money for one last one and let Hollywood wait a few more years. His passion is with acting though, and he can spend all his time with Taya right now. The thought is he cares more about that than the money and will get it done with Impact

Meltzer is reporting though that LAX has great offers on the table from both WWE and AEW and will certainly sign with one of them. They have one set of TV tapings left for Impact before they can leave, if Impact chooses to use them. LAX seems to be leaning towards WWE, but Konnan is working as their agent and he and WWE have an awful relationship, so that could ruin the deal and push them to AEW.  Konnan was basically the sole reason why it took WWE about 3 years to come to terms with Rey Misterio, Jr. and Vince doesn’t even want to talk to him at this point. Vince is personally very high on LAX and feels like he’s made them great offer, but any attempt by Konnan to negotiate could cause WWE to just walk away. In addition to just not liking Konnan, Vince is also adamant that WWE will not be used as leverage to get better deals from AEW and doesn’t want to set a precedent of engaging in bidding wars.

Johnny Impact has announced that he has left America now that his contract has expired and is seeking experimental stem cell treatment in Colombia to treat a host of nagging injuries. So chances are we won’t see him for awhile while he rests up and negotiates.

On Friday, Impact aired LAX and The North setting up a loser-leaves-town match.  On Sunday, LAX made their AEW debut at All Out, attacking both the Lucha Bros. and Young Bucks.  So hmmm, I wonder who will win that loser-leaves-town match when it finally airs.

Meltzer is reporting that Impact is retaining the usage of the LAX name and will give it to another team.  The original LAX were Homicide and Hernandez so this will be the third time they've passed the name on.  In AEW, Ortiz and Santana were called the Boricuas, which may or may not be their team name there going forward.
