Shoppers are boycotting Home Depot after the co-founder of the home improvement store, Bernie Marcus, said he planned to donate to President Trump’s 2020 reelection campaign, Business Insider reports.
The billionaire, an avid supporter of the president, told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution in June that while he didn’t “agree with every move” Trump has made, he has still “produced more than anybody else” while in the White House.

"If we look at this country, I would say that we are better off today than we were eight years ago or six years ago,” he said, according to the Journal-Constitution.
Since retiring from Home Depot in 2002, Marcus has become more involved in politics, donating millions to the Republican Party. He also donated $7 million to Trump during the 2016 presidential race, according to the Center for Responsive Politics.
Social media users, including Democratic Coalition Against Trump Chairman Jon Cooper, took to Twitter to criticize Marcus, and many have used the hashtag #boycotthomedepot to say they won’t shop at the store, while others said they plan to cut up their Home Depot credit cards.

Home Depot, in a statement, said the company does not endorse presidential candidates and Marcus was not speaking for the company.
"Bernie retired from The Home Depot more than 15 years ago and isn’t speaking on behalf of the company," Home Depot spokeswoman Margaret Smith said in a statement to The Hill. "In fact, as a standard practice, the company does not endorse Presidential candidates."

Ironic since you'll never find more illegal immigrants gathered in one place than in a Home Depot parking lot.

I buy shit at Home Depot. I buy shit at Lowe’s. We have one of each near us. Menard’s is a bit farther away, so we generally don’t go there. As a homeowner, I don’t see any way around not visiting these places multiple times a year.

This is ridiculous.  As soon as I bought a house, I wound up in Home Depot every weekend.  It has nothing to do with thinking you're "Mr. Fix-It", you need to but shit for your home.  It's not like you're going to hire a contractor to put up a mailbox or plant flowers.

The fact that the guy who said it has been retired from the company for over 15 years tells you all you need to know about how deranged the left is. I could understand the potential boycott if he was still employed there, but after 15 years?

I hate going to home improvements stores but it still seems like I’m in one almost every week

Same.  There's no way to avoid it when you're a homeowner.

We probably make 3 trips a month to HD. I cannot believe people are pissed over the opinion of a guy who hasn't been involved for 15 years.

Both sides are fucking insane anymore.

If they are going to go after Home Depot they better go after Chik Fil A and Cracker Barrel as well. lol it's well known Fil A's run by homophobe's. The last Cracker Barrel I went To recently was proudly displaying books on John Wayne. A well known bigot. If they support him they are supporting Trump.:)

I'm a Home Depot guy. Much cheaper than Lowe's overall, at least in my area. The damn Mexicans in the parking lot refuse to sell pot to the Gringos though. Racists.

The boycotts against Chick-Fil-A have been going on for years.

judging by the lines at Chik Fil A tasty chicken sandwich is more important than being accepting of everyone. :)
