L PASO — Police have reported an active shooting involving at least one shooter in the Cielo Vista Mall area. Multiple media outlets have reported that multiple people are injured; CNN reports there are multiple fatalities.
The shooting scene appears to be a Walmart near the mall, just off Interstate 10. The area has been sealed off, and FBI SWAT teams can be seen near armored vehicles, along with Texas Department of Safety troopers, as a military-style helicopter circles overhead.
Gaby and Lorenzo were inside the Walmart in #ElPaso where there is an active shooter. They say they saw at least 5 shot. https://t.co/FqHdnfeu5U

One Walmart employee, leaving the scene with two fellow employees, said they were told to take shelter before being evacuated from the store. The man, who declined to give his name, said he didn't witness the shooting but was told by others who did that "it's bad."
Police were seen searching a late-model car at an intersection near the scene, with the trunk and doors open. No one was inside.

According to a tweet sent from El Paso Police at 1:11 p.m. Central Time, the scene is still active. Police say they have heard reports of multiple shooters but have been unable to confirm those reports. Locals should stay away.
Scene is still Active. We have multi reports of multiple shooters. Please avoid area police conducting search of a very large area. Media staging will be given when area is secure.

Various reports say 19 dead, 40 wounded, including children. Suspect is a white guy in his 20"s.

Thought all Texans had guns. Maybe they're all as bad at shooting as that copper who got the woman instead of the dog.

I thought a Texas Walmart would have had scores of the proverbial "good guy with a gun".  Of course the guys Facebook page was chock full of pro-Trump and anti-immigrant rhetoric but I'm sure that had nothing to do with anything.

Another angry white man does the shooting. Hates Mexicans. Thinks they are invading Texas. I wonder who could have helped inspire those thoughts. I wonder who he supports....hmmmm...

This is beyond sad. Here are some unavoidable truths:
Being evil is not against the law

Mental illness seems to be on the rise and it's really hard to detect what's going on in someone's head.

Even with the most draconian gun laws, there would be 300 million guns in circulation. This would benefit criminals and sick bastards wishing to do us harm because they would use the black market, unlike the law abiding citizen.

I've been called paranoid by family and friends for carrying while in church, at my kids sporting events, shopping, and generally every where I go. Over the last few months, people who know me are more understanding why I carry.

The Texas Lt Gov this morning on the news is blaming video games, and people not saluting the flag, and kids not going to church. I shit you not....this retard thinks this is the problem. Now add in the mass shooting to Dayton.

I don't play shoot-em up video games, but somehow I can imagine this dude in Texas spending 20 hours a day playing this shit.

I don’t think video games are the single factor but I can see how they can mess with someone who is already somewhat unstable.

There is mental illness all over the world. There are video games all over the world. But these big mass shootings just happen in America. Too easy access to guns/assault weapons...…..

One of Trumps followers shouted to shoot the immigrants at one of his hate rallies and Trump didnt tell him to shut up or condemn his comments. He chuckled about it. Behavior like that by a president does not help.

And there was another mass shooting in Dayton Oh....9 dead......

So, you have a lunatic, a video game, and a gun.

And the solution is to take away the video game?

You could argue very easily that the internet also pours gasoline on the fire of unstable minds. I guess there were always creeps and nut jobs, right? Gacy, Oswald, Speck, down the line. Columbine happened back in the AOL days, so can’t blame Twitter and Instagram on that one. I don’t know what the answer is, but I know it would be impossible to get guns off the streets at this point.

That being said...all this stuff exists outside the States, but you don't see the proclivity for these mass killings across the developed world. Actually you don't see the murder rate period in most 1st world western nations as you do here. Everyone has video games, and mental illness, and religious variation.
