I watched a WWF match from 1980 featuring Tony Atlas vs. Silvano Sousa.  At some point Atlas starts bleeding.  It wouldn't make sense to have a star blade vs. a carpenter.  I didn't see Atlas blade, so my guess is it was an accidental hard way.

Is anyone familiar with this match?

No, but Sousa’s ‘70’s hairstyle was proper!

I could not find the match, but I would think the bleeding would be accidental. I can think of no purpose for it against somebody like Atlas. Did you notice where or how he could have gotten busted open?

All the matches are on here 3 times or something, but if you skip forward you'll find it.

Right in the middle Sousa bites Atlas's forehead, but I think that's the cover for the blood.  He then pounds him in the corner and McMahon mentions he's bleeding.

Good call on this one.

Not sure what going in there. It seems Sousa was unusually targeting the head with punches before the cut, but I did not see the blade moment from Atlas? I was thinking maybe he was practicing using the blade. I like watching for the blade moment now when watching old matches.

I forgot about the Sousa “bald” era! 😂😂😂😂

Ok that was really weird. I'm sure Sousa had a measure of respect in the locker room as he wrestled both on TV and on the road. Maybe not as respected as Rodz, Estrada, Soto, or Sanchez but some respect nonetheless. The cut was obviously hardway with the old Harley Race version of knuckle to the brow. But two things stuck out as weird. One was Vince acknowledging that "Atlas isn't even putting up his hands". Second being Sousa worked Atlas over to the hot camera so everyone could see the blood. Maybe Atlas did it as a payback because Sousa stole Dottie Downs boots and put them in Tony's gym bag to sniff later.
