I know that Andrew Luck has had some injury problems and certainly he can retire when he wants to. That said, my understanding is he retired by choice rather than need and I believe, though it is impossible to prove right now, that retirement had to be on his mind for a while. He didn't go to bed one night fully expecting to play in 2019 only to decide to retire the next day. I truly think this had been on his mind for a while. On that basis, criticism of him for the timing of this decision is reasonable. The boos he got from frustrated Colts fans on Saturday night as the news spread has painted people knocking his retirement into a corner of being cold or unfeeling with regard to his physical and mental health. That isn't fair. Andrew Luck making a February decision in late August, fundamentally changing the entire Colts 2019 season when it's too late for the team to make trades, draft choices, and free agency signings to accommodate for the new expectations is worthy of criticism. If he had it in his mind to walk away much sooner, didn't tell the team, and then sprang it on everyone now, it's not good for the team and his teammates.

Colts season ticket holders looking for a refund

I think they have a point.

Then they are not real Colt fans then. The team is called the Colts, not the Lucks. Seems like something the phoney ass Dallas Cowboy "fans" would do. The man retired because of injuries. I understand Colts fans are devastated. I understand Colts fans are upset at the timing  of the retirement. Go ahead and give up your season tickets to people who deserve them, but no f'n refunds.

Belichick on Luck announcing his retirement: "He's a good player. I didn't see that, but I don't really follow them."

Ahh now it makes sense.  Sit out 2 years and get healthy.  Collect a paycheck from the Colts, and then sign with the Pats when Brady retires.

I love off-field NFL conspiracy theories.

Here's where the Colts fans have a point. Colts mgmt. paying Luck 24 million. Colts fans are footing the bill.

This isn't like taxpayers footing the bill.  They have a choice.  They don't have to buy tickets.  And they would cost exactly the same without that contract anyway.

Yep, I'm a diehard SF Giants fan. I went thru hell for 30 years, including a full fledge Chris Russo rant in front of my entire family in 2002. I still loved them, I don't change teams. I'm not a Cowboy "fan". 2010 was finally Christmas, not to mention 2012, and 2014. My point is FUCK the Colt fake fans who want a ticket refund. Besides, it's 2019. Go watch the game on your 60 inch flat screen with your cheap beer and weed anyway.

I still see people bitching on Facebook about Luck screwing them on the ticket prices.  So let me ask this: in the 100+ year history of pro sports, how many times has a team reduced ticket prices after slashing payroll?  Probably more than a dozen pro teams slash payroll every year, and maybe 2 teams in history have ever reduced ticket prices.  Sports fans need to stop being such marks.  They charge what they can sucker you out of, and because of season ticket holders, corporate buyers, and legalized scalping like StubHub, they can even charge a lot more than you're willing to pay and let seats remain empty and they don't care.  There's no semblance of supply and demand anymore, much less a correlation between one players' contract and the ticket prices.  I wonder how people can be so stupid to think that we're not paying for Trump's tariffs and then I see sports fans complain about shit like this and it all becomes much clearer just how stupid the average person is, especially when it comes to macroeconomics.

I love srossi's rants, especially when he's right.

Colts season ticket holders are promised NFL games at Lucas Oil Stadium with the Colts hosting the visiting teams. That is it. There is no guarantee about who will be on the team or how the team will perform. I get that fans are upset about Andrew Luck retiring, because it takes the Colts from the playoff picture to an immediate long term rebuilding project. Since the arrival of Peyton Manning in 1999, the Colts have largely been anywhere from an elite team to at least a good one. Only 2001 (the year of the Jim Mora playoffs rant), 2011 (Peyton missed the season due to injury), and 2017 (Luck missed the season due to injury) count as truly awful seasons for the team. Those fans are about to take a trip back to the 1980s and 1990s when the Colts were terrible and are reacting irrationally in response.

Last year I got an 85.00 Niner ticket for 14.00

I am going to Niner preseason game tomorrow. 8 bucks per ticket. (upper deck)

Going to take the transit train there so I don't have to pay 40-60 for parking.
