Well if there's going to be a women in the NFL (and there will be one eventually) a kicker makes sense.

I'm ok with it. Hell. we have women in the military. And they are downplaying the kicking game anyway I don't know if there will be kickoffs even eventually. So were talking about a field goal kicker. Sure.

I can honestly say that one of the reasons I didn't like the new extra point rule (moving it from 20 to 36 yards) was because it discouraged women from becoming NFL placekickers. I have four daughters, two of them athletes, and I can certainly see a female placekicker in the NFL within 15 years.

Carli Lloyd is nothing more than a hot media story right now. There is a lot of difference in goofing around trying to nail long FGs in relation to lining up, getting the ball snapped and set within seconds, and then squaring yourself away to kick the ball. She gets credit for leg strength, and I am sure a woman will eventually possess the game and kicking skills to be a kicker in college and pro ball.

I think it's fine as long as the whole world doesn't go apeshit when a botched snap ends up with Lloyd or any other woman kicker getting hit, and hit hard, during the ensuing scramble, because that is a reality that could easily come to pass.

Gives a whole new meaning to the term "I'd  hit that"!
And since football players, and other athletes are well known for how respectful the are to women how long will it be before a woman is involved in a mad scramble for the ball, on a blocked kick say and at the end of the scrum the female leaves the field pregnant.

You know you can count on Antonio Brown to film her while she's changing.

This.  Even kickers take hits sometimes.  As long as there are no special rules (aside from the already ridiculous tackling rules for every NFL player these days), then sure.  Anyone who can do the job should be given the chance, with no special accommodations.

I can see a female pitcher make it to MLB within 20 years myself.  The kicker will come first, but I think we'll see it.  It will help is she can master a knuckleball.  If she can do that and has a good curve, she can maybe make it.  But I just looked it up and the fastest pitch that a female has ever thrown is 69.  In another 20 years, someone will probably reach mid to high 70s, but that's still really slow, even as an off-speed pitch.  You can't throw that to a big leaguer regularly.  Position players forced to pitch in blowouts hit at least 80.

I really have nothing against Lloyd or any woman playing in the NFL, as long as they don't receive any special rules just because they're woman.  Sure the kickers are probably the safest position in football, but we all know they're still capable of getting injured.  If she's OK with it and not ask for any special treatment then I'm fine with it.

Look at how most kickers and punters already attempt to tackle. Surely she can fall to the ground and hope they trip over her too.

There is a big difference between being able to kick a ball 50 yards over the goalpost (I could do it when I was 14) and having the timing to properly execute a professional football field goal. If a woman can do the job just as good as a man, then sign them up.

I was watching Lloyd kicking the FGs. She took like 5 or 6 steps before kicking the ball(running start). At most in the NFL you get 2 ,if that.

Lol.

As far as Carli goes, she's 37 years old and doesn't want to quit playing soccer. Not to mention she's never kicked wearing gear. I doubt that she ever sees an NFL preseason game. But like was said earlier, it's only a matter of time.
