Former WWE superstar Ric Flair is no stranger to footwear, and now the living legend has announced an endorsement deal with adidas, promising to “take down Nike” and turn Air Jordan into Air Flair.

The Nature Boy told TMZ Sports: “Ready for the good news? adidas thinks I’m ‘The Man.’ I signed a deal with them, and we’re fixin’ to make Nike the second brand, OK? It’s not gonna be Air Jordan anymore, it’s gonna be Air Flair and I can’t jump.” As the latest athlete to sign a deal with adidas, Flair joins the likes of James HardenDamian Lillard, and pro-gamer Ninja. Flair also mentioned that he loves Kanye West and would love to have him design some of his future products.

adidas now stands for "all day I dream about scotch."

I can't find a single report of this story which has any evidence on top of Flair talking gibberish to TMZ. After four days, you would have thought that Adidas would have said something about this. I don't think Flair is lying, but he is certainly confused.

Adidas and other companies have lots of big and small deals with celebrities, athletes, entertainers, tastemakers and influencers to wear and promote their shoes, apparel, and equipment. It can range from the corporate big shots making a major deal with an NBA star worth millions to someone much further down the chain of command sending some free shoes and clothes along with a check for a couple hundred bucks to a sorority girl in exchange for her taking selfies while wearing the stuff and promoting how and where to buy them along with a discount code. Someone probably gave Flair a few bucks because they know he can get the word out on Adidas via social media and wrestling fans talking about him. If this is worth more than a couple thousand bucks I'd be mighty surprised.

Would have been great if it was "Roos" since they sponsored NWA back in the day.

If they look like the samba I’ll buy a pair otherwise I’ll stick to old school pumas and new balance.
