Just based on what song fit the character and how cool you liked the song. Listed in random order.

The Sandman and Mikey Whipreck are automatically disqualified for obvious reasons.:)

Taz- War Machine, Kiss. Kind of ironic that the badass of the company would come out to a Kiss song. Paul liked Kiss.

Tommy Dreamer - Man In The Box, Alice In Chains. This is my 2nd favorite AIC song behind only Nutshell. I thought it kinda fit Tommy's character.

Shane Douglas -  Perfect Strangers, Deep Purple. I used to like Deep Purple until they were inducted into the RnR HOF. Deep Purple has 4 cool songs at best. I do think it's good music for Shane's character at the time though.

RVD - Walk (Kilgore covering Pantera). This ring entrance was cool as shit in 98-99.

Chris Candido - Back In Black, AC/DC. Candido returns to ECW wearing all black gear with Tammy in a hot black dress. They would soon form the Triple Threat.

Or Any Write In Choice.

To me, The Sandman  had the best theme and entrance
Other contenders
RVD - Walk
Public Enemy - here Comes The Hot Stepper
Tommy Dreamer - Man In A Box
Raven - Come Out And Play

The Sandman obviously takes this as one of the best entrances ever.

All the ones mentioned are good but I'll throw in the following:

Al Snow - the Prodigy song with the nightclub lighting and everyone getting plastic heads

Balls Mahoney - sing along to AC/DC's "Big Balls"

BWO - obviously

Cactus Jack - "Born to be Wild" entrance

The Gangstas and then New Jack on his own with the weapons while "Natural Born Killas" played was fun in the 1995 to 1997 era, but from 1998 to 2000 was burned out and showed that Heyman was increasingly bereft of new and quality booking ideas.

The best ECW music and entrance was Taz because of the aura around him in that gimmick from late 1995 until he left in 1999. Looking at his Tazmaniac persona, his WWE persona past the first couple of months and especially after he became a full time announcer, and now as a full time host for CBS Sports Radio, it is especially amazing that he got over as this deadly serious killer who people thought could mow down guys in MMA. "War Machine" by Kiss was part of that entire package.

I remember all the smarks thought that not only was Taz a legit badass, but also that he was his character.  Grown biker-looking dudes were scared to approach him at shows or at the bars after the shows.  Taz was in character 100% of the time, including during "shoot" interview panels when everyone else would let their hair down.  It was always Taz and later Buh-Buh Ray who never broke character and had fans shitting their pants.  That's why it's funny to me when people say that kayfabe is dead because of the Internet or fans being too smart or whatever.  Bullshit!  You can make them believe if you try.

Just this week, Kenny Omega and Lacey fucking Evans have managed to work even the smartest of fans. Kayfabe isn't dead, it's just that the smart fans get pissed when they fall for a work rather than admiring the artist and their work.

I think Axl Rotten came out to "Kick out the Jams" a few times. Felt like that worked for him.

"War Machine" by KISS isn't indicative of their typical sound. It's probably one of their heaviest songs and it worked for Taz. It's basically: "I'm coming to kick your tushy". I'd rank it as probably the best fit among ECW themes.

I'll always like Public Enemy and "Here Comes the Hot-stepper". As soon as the crowd heard "Hit it. Na-na-na-na-naaa" they immediately started dancing and cheering. Sure, it was the ECW Arena, but I think it got a bigger pop than even the Undertaker's "bong". PE was incredibly over in 1995 and their song helped.

I think PE in 1995 were over just because of the song...it got the crowd involved, and then PE did their thing in the ring and won the crowd over. I don't think they get over anywhere near as much, or as fast, without the song.

PE invented the table spot before even Sabu.  I don't think you remember just how innovative and important these guys were to the business.  Johnny Grunge wasn't much, but Rocco Rock was a LONG time and well-respected veteran as Cheetah Kid before he finally hit it big in ECW, and he was a hell of a promo and a high-flyer.  He was the whole team and certainly got over on more merits than the entrance music.

IMO The PE were the best tag team in the business 94/95. Their Promos were always great.
