Ben, thanks for posting that.
It may just be my memory screwing with me (very possible), but I had always remembered this being shown with a giant red X on the screen.
Regardless, this has always been one of my earliest wrestling memories. LOVE IT

I always wondered why they didn't have Buddy accept Jimmy's offer to manage him instead of saying he would give an answer shortly. Albano was as always gold. Everyone in those days had their part to play and they always seemed to play it perfectly when the chips were down.

'Part to play' an extension of their actual personality

Except for Buddy.  God, it was painful to listen to him speak in that era.  Always tripping over his words, while at the same time trying to present himself as mister cool and deadly.

Interestingly, they did reference him (Buddy Rogers) from time to time as the only man to have held the WWWF and NWA World title.

Other than Harley race's arrival in 1980 and/or an AWA or NWA star coming to MSG (and they were promoting that match) I don't really remember a whole lot of that acknowledgement of the AWA or NWA.

I never got what Snuka was supposed to mean to Freddie Blassie and Ray Stevens. I assumed the feud was meant to be Snuka against Mighty Joe Thunder, with the angle that Albano was stealing money from Jimmy to pay MJT, but when Thunder bombed at his lone set of tapings, he got turfed and Stevens wound up in the feud.
