I finally watched this last night. It was very true to the TV show so I have no reason to complain, but as a stand-alone movie it didn't do much for me. The attention to detail and ridiculously minute plot points that made "Breaking Bad" so awesome was a bit of a detriment when it comes to a 2 hour movie that may be the last of these characters that you see for years (or ever). Many other series would've taken that entire 2 hours and tacked it on in the last 3 1/2 minutes of the last episode of "Breaking Bad". When it comes right down to it, not that much happened. The escape was just covered with incredible minutia. That's what we've come to expect from the show, but that's not a movie format. One of the problems is that years have gone by now and I don't remember the show like I used to, so I'm sure I missed a lot. You really have to binge that show and know EVERYTHING to fully enjoy it. There were some entire characters who I couldn't quite place. The flashback scenes with Mike and Walter were a bit gimmicky just to get them cameos in the movie, but I'm sure the fans would've revolted if they had a "Breaking Bad" movie with zero Bryan Cranston. Thoughts? Last edited on Mon Oct 21st, 2019 01:23 pm by srossi ____________________ This thread was great before AA ruined it. |

Was really looking forward to it, but disappointed overall. Seemed like just an extended episode.

I watched it yesterday. It was a decent movie, but was completely unnecessary.

I live in NM. Every day of my life is zackly like that movie because thats our day to day life in NM. Everyone cooks meth or shoots other people who cook meth. The movie was unnecessary because anyone could just asked me or Rob Marco and we could have told them.

For me it gave closure. Its bothered me for years, not knowing what happened with Badger and Stinky Pete. Now I know they were just hanging out on the couch giving each other a jack off.

I enjoyed it. Not like it was a major theatrical release. Just a nice surprise as I had no idea it was coming out or anything.

Here's a question as I've thought about watching it. It's been so long since I've watched Breaking Bad my memories of it aren't all that strong. I loved the show, I just don't remember all the storylines is what I mean. Would that effect me enjoying the movie?

You’ll still enjoy it but there’s a few references you won’t get and a ton of Easter eggs to search for online after you’re done. I definitely forgot a lot. But on the surface it’s an incredibly simple story of Pinkman trying to get his money and escape town. That’s literally the whole plot for 2 hours, just incredibly intricately detailed.
