Multiple reports that AEW talent were at a restaurant Thursday night and Jimmy Havoc got absolutely shit-faced and started not one but two fights with Excalibur. He took a swing at Excalibur, who promptly choked him out and had to be pulled off by Atlas Security. So Havoc wakes up and Excalibur tries to approach him to calm him down and let bygones be bygones, and Havoc throws his phone at him, it misses and breaks against a wall, and Excalibur punches him out. Tony Khan was right there to witness the whole thing. All accounts are there is no heat on Excalibur, but they may have a problem with Havoc.

So an announcer beat up AEW’s top hardcore wrestler twice in one night. We’ll see how AEW handles this, if at all. We know what Bill Watts would do.

Bill Watts would be sending checks to a post office box to pay Excalibur's salary.

I bet Excalibur was wearing his mask the whole time. I'm not gonna advocate a man getting fired, but if the situation went down as described, Tony Khan needs to stand up and and set an example that this shit is unacceptable. Jimmy Havoc sucks anyway.

Maybe he didn't recognize Excalibur without the mask. Jimmy Havoc sounds like a CZW reject from 2006 just in name. Couldn't pick him out of a police lineup but sounds like one of those trampoline trash rasslers.

Hogan's creative control is causing unrest in the locker room.  He and Bischoff are ruining AEW.

I heard hogan signed a deal with AEW that pays him to ignore AEW and gives him creative control and veto power in his own personal life.

My biggest complaint with Excalibur has always been that he needs to get rid of the mask, or at least have a good explanation why he has one. I haven't really had too many complaints about his work, although I think Cornette brought up a good point about him having a tendency to call matches like he is exclusively calling them for a smart mark audience.

Last night I thought he did a very poor job. He was calling botched spots like they they were executed perfectly. I can't remember all of them, but the big one was when Omega did a moonsault with a garbage can and it missing Moxley altogether. Omega took the impact of it on his chest with only his lower body body hitting Moxley.

Excalibur called it like he landed with the can impacting Moxley, when the live camera and replay clearly showed it missing him.

The mask complaint is just silly. He’s a retired wrestler who wore it when competing and still does now. Who the fuck cares? You see him for 30 seconds at the beginning of the show.

Cornette’s comment about him calling matches exclusively for a smark audience is fair. He over-calls moves using extremely technical names that even I think are a bit much, and by the time he spits that out 5 more moves have been executed. Orihara moonsault? I might be the only one who knows Masao Orihara, a little known Japanese indy wrestler who once was a fake Great Sasuke 20 years ago. What’s the point of calling the move that? And it takes away from any attempt at actually telling the story that needs needs to be told in AEW in 2019 because you’re trying to pop 3 people at home. So Cornette is right about that one.

I would understand if Excalibur was a name talent who wore a mask, but this is an indy level guy still trying to put himself over. His whole act is a smart mark fest and does little to nothing to broaden the viewing base of AEW.

I'm sure changes will come and prolly sooner than later but one that should be made is to get him out of the mask and using if not his real name then a made up one that sounds real.
