It was announced during Survivor Series that Mauro Ranallo was not on the show due to losing his voice calling Takeover last night.  That story appears to be untrue and Ranallo may have no-showed the event after a Corey Graves tweet last night.  Ranallo has deleted his Twitter and it's unclear if anyone knows where he is.

Graves tweeted "Just for the record guys, I know you wouldn’t know it, but there’s actually a WWE Hall of Famer AND a former Ring of Honor Champion on commentary.  I’d imagine they have a lot to offer."

This appeared to be in retaliation for Ranallo hogging the broadcast last night and talking over his two co-announcers frequently, something that I honestly noticed too.  At least when it came to Beth Phoenix, I was actually picking up on that and wondering if Ranallo was going to be accused of sexism for completely eating her lunch and not allowing her to have a word in edgewise last night.  Apparently Graves noticed too.

Shortly after Ranallo got off the air, he deleted his Twitter account and hasn't made any public statements since.  His manager Frank Shamrock simply replied to Graves with a lot of "?????????????"

Ranallo has a well-publicized history of mental illness and of spiraling out of control and battling deep bouts of depression over incidents that others might find minor, so there is a lot of concern about him right now.  Of course, he previously quit WWE after charging JBL with bullying him, so there's no telling what his future is with WWE now.

This is all breaking during the PPV and there's nothing but speculation online at this point.

Well, Graves isn't wrong. If it were Jim Ross in that seat and talking/screaming too much, the IWC would be up in arms.

I see so many fanboys on twitter screaming about Graves and how DARE HE say that when Ranallo has a mental illness that can affect him like that. In reality, if his mental illness is going to screw up the on-air product then he needs to find a behind the scenes job..

I would not mind this if Nigel or Beth said something, but Corey Graves needs to shut the fuck up and mind his own business. He's a douchebag of a person and he hides behind the fact that due to head injuries he can't fight, so he runs his mouth because he knows that there will be nothing done to him. Frank Shamrock is right - so many people hide behind social media because they know that they aren't going to get punched in the face.

I see it both ways. I love Mauro. He's the best combat sports announcer in the game. But there comes a point where you can't use mental illness as an excuse for everything. If you can't handle something, then the job might not be right for you. Mauro DID take over the broadcast in a very noticeable way, as i mentioned in my original post. Corey was right. Should Corey have minded his own fucking business and let Nigel and Beth (or Cole, who I think is basically in charge of the announcers) handle it? Yes. He's a big mouth and he's gotten a huge head. But at the same time, this tweet is hardly in the top 99.9% of worst things that have ever been tweeted at a famous personality, so Mauro needs to get his shit together and not fly off the deep end over every little thing otherwise he probably needs to disappear from the spotlight for a while. Graves' semi-mean tweet is not at all the same thing as what JBL has done for decades.

I don't know what Meltzer said about this (maybe someone can post), but this was Graves' reply to it:

"@davemeltzerWON, you uninformed, false narrative pushing liar. My phone works. You're a 'journalist,' right? You can find my number."

This is what was quoted in the NY Post, and possibly what Graves is talking about: “He did not quit. Obviously, everything is fine. Fine..that’s a weird way of putting it. But everything seems to be fine between Mauro Ranallo and WWE,” Meltzer said, via 411Mania. “I was told [Sunday] that he absolutely is expected to be there Wednesday commentating on NXT and that from his side, he absolutely expects to be there. I think that they were not happy with Graves, although Graves did do the show [Sunday].”

The NY Post covered this story?  Did literally nothing else happen in the city yesterday?

I wouldn't have known if it didn't pop up when I searched for Graves.  It was the second story listed.  The Post is dying just a little bit slower than the Daily News but I can see a day when both are gone.

I have no idea what Mauro did or didn't do on that Takeover broadcast, but him having a breakdown everytime something happens is not a good look.

I do think Graves is an asshole for tweeting about it though. You don't throw a co-worker under the bus publicly like that. He doesn't need to go on twitter, he works with the guy, call him, email him or say what you have to say to Mauro face to face. Irregardless whether Mauro has a mental illness or not, I think that it attracts too much bad heat, airing dirty laundry online like that.

With that said, it wouldn't surprise if Graves' superiors didn't instruct him to do that, just knowing how petty and toxic they are.

Graves is right, but he was wrong in taking this to twitter. I can't tell if Frank Shamrock wanting to punch out people every time Mauro gets criticized is funny or sad.

This from the guy who called out his co-worker on Twitter, rather than just phoning him to talk to him. What an ass.

When it comes to taking personal shit out in public on social media, he's as worse than his (future) ex-wife. The one he cheated on, and left. Moral of my post - anybody more than 4 neck tattoos is a douche bag.

POSTWrestling.com reported overnight that Mauro Ranallo will not be calling tonight's episode of WWE NXT. PWInsider.com has independently confirmed that report. WWE was told yesterday that Ranallo would not be traveling to Orlando.

Corey Graves, who sparked Ranallo pulling off Survivor Series and NXT with a tweet about his work during the WWE NXT Takeover: Wargames broadcast, apologized for the tweet on the latest edition of the WWE After the Bell podcast.

Paul Jordan wrote the following recap:

"Corey opens the show by addressing the tweet this past Saturday directed towards Mauro Ranallo during Takeover: Wargames. Corey says he thought it was something that could stir up controversy and give him something to talk about on television or on the podcast. He states that it may not have been the most professional way to go about it, but it was never meant to offend, disrespect, or disparage anybody. That was never his intention. If someone took it as such, he apologizes. Graves goes on to say he didn't mean to cause anyone any undue stress, especially a coworker. He then apologizes again."
