Eli Manning will retire. If the Chargers don't want Philip Rivers on the team as a backup or as someone in the mix for the starting position, he will retire. He and his wife have 9 kids. He commutes from San Diego to Los Angeles and isn't going to either uproot his family to move to another city or leave them behind to go be a back up somewhere. Drew Brees will be the starter for the Saints. Tom Brady, despite his diminishing skills, will be the starter for the Patriots although Belichick will bring in someone capable of carrying the load as starter if the continued use of Brady becomes untenable. Jameis Winston will be the starter for the Buccaneers. Teddy Bridgewater will get a shot at starting somewhere, maybe the Bengals. Case Keenum is a career backup, so he'll find a spot with a team that needs a vet who won't have any ego problems with sitting on the bench, but is competent enough if they're forced to use him. Marcus Mariota is done in Tennessee, but he's still only 26 and has many years under his belt as a starter. Some coach will think he can fix him. He won't be a starter anywhere, but he can be in the league if he wants to be. Colin Kaepernick is a tough one to call. He's not untalented, but the baggage he brings with him is going to make many a team think it's not worth the trouble. The strange workout he had the other week, if taken at face value and putting aside the drama both the player and league created, seemed to be less about finding him a spot this season and more about giving teams a chance to see if he'd fit into their 2020 offseason workout plans for a chance to earn a contract. I don't think he'll get a chance, but he will have to scale back his salary expectations and accept that he'd likely be a backup if he somehow lands an opportunity.

Add Andy Dalton to this list as well as there is a decent chance he could end up elsewhere with the Bengals considering a QB in the draft, especially if they wind up with the first pick.

How about Derek Carr? I don't think fans want him around anymore. Not sure Gruden is happy with him. If Raiders dump him he's a 5 mil cap hit. If they keep him they pay 25 mil. John Gruden (picking up his morning newspaper): "Howdy neighbor." Derek Carr: "FUCK OFF!" For those of you that don't get the joke, it has been reported that Gruden and Carr have either bought houses next door or are having houses built next door to each other. I personally agree with Benlen. I think Carr will last one season in Vegas at the most.
