Jack McDowell said that when he came up with the White Sox in 1987, there was a hidden camera in the Gatorade sign on the center field scoreboard that was used to steal signs and had been installed by former White Sox manager Tony LaRussa who by then was in charge of the A's. McDowell seems to have no love lost for LaRussa, taking a dig as well about how the Bash Brothers A's were the first major steroid team in the majors, but the manager escaped unscathed.

So after the Yankees-Red Sox London series, this Alex Cora post-game press conference quote was unearthed, complete with super villain wink:

“It wasn’t a good weekend on the field. That’s a good offensive team. We know that. They’re a lot better than last year. Their attention to detail is phenomenal. I was joking with somebody that their biggest free-agent acquisition is Carlos Beltran. (wink). I know how it works. He’s helping a lot. They’re paying attention to details, and we have to clean our details. It was eye-opening, the last few days — from top to bottom. And I’m not saying devices — all that stuff. It’s just stuff that the game will dictate and will scream at people. And he’s right there. Throughout the evening, I was looking and I saw it. And right now, they’re a lot better than us.”

At the time, reporter John Harper tweeted the following:

"To be clear, Cora wasn't accusing Yanks of anything out-of-bounds. He was praising their intel, having coached w/Astros when Beltran played there. Beltran always known for his ability to detect pitches being tipped one way or another. Faulted Red Sox for not being more careful."

The footage of José Altuve warning his teammates not to rip on his jersey after rounding 3rd and using both hands to make sure it doesn't open up is sickening. The guy is guilty as sin!

This would never happen in the Lingerie Football League.

Your’e right - they’d all be stuffed with those pink remote control twat punchers that the coaches would send...um, “signals” to them to know what they...uh, “needed to do”.  Yeah, something like that.

The Mets have replaced Carlos Beltran with another odd choice, 38-year old Luis Rojas, son of Felipe Alou.  Rojas has no MLB experience, hasn't managed higher than AA, and is extremely young.  Keith Hernandez said he was "floored" by the decision and thinks the Mets need someone with more experience.

He's also well liked by the players. Sometimes that works against you to because the guys take advantage of your good nature over a long season. I'm still pissed they got rid of Mickey who I thought was more than adequate and getting better and learning more as time went on.

I think Mickey was great, and all he lacked was a solid bench coach that was happy being a solid bench coach.  Joe Torre was a shitty manager; so was Don Zimmer.  Put them together as a team, and they were great.  Every manager needs the right sounding board to make it right - even Billy Martin needed Art Fowler to sit with him at the bar and talk strategy.  I know Billy wasn’t the greatest manager, but every single time he had Art with him, he was successful.  Mickey Callaway needed somebody like Terry Collins to bounce ideas off of - I know that was impossible, but the “older guy that managed but was done with it” type of guy would’ve gotten Mickey over the hump.  That team had many valleys in 2019, but they NEVER quit on Mickey, and I think it’s bullshit that they didn’t give him one more shot.

Hey, he's just shy in that Latin way.  Seriously, he claimed his wife got mad at him the previous time his jersey got ripped off.  Has anyone dug into the video to even find an instance of his shirt being ripped off?  And if so, did he not have an undershirt on?

I'm going to steal this verbatim on all the stupid Met Facebook pages I follow. Perfect analysis.

Rob Manfred is such a pussy. Every player from the 2017 Astros should be suspended for the entire 2020 season but the prick owner still has to pay them. More punishment for him. I'd say without pay but the players union is going to grieve it anyways.

If the Astros go 6-156 using the most useless washed up trash then they might actually learn a lesson.
Bregman's apology was Academy Award winning weak.

Who bats lead off for them. Might not happen in Spring Training but on opening day I predict the first pitch out of the opposing pitchers hands takes the Astro leadoff hitter in the temple.
Same for the piece of shit Red Sox if Manfred ever finishes his investigation of them.

Scuffing baseballs, rubbing the managers wife's pussy juice all over the ball before throwing it, stealing signs from second is one thing but the shit the Bad Stros and Dead Sox did is over the top.
