Lots of reports that Riddle and Lesnar had a shooting match backstage at the Rumble. Vince wasn’t necessarily pissed about that, but he was pissed at the reason for it, which was Riddle’s constant public comments and tweets knocking Lesnar and trying to promote a WM match with him that was never in the company’s plans. Lesnar took exception, and Vince booked him at the Rumble to be eliminated in seconds by Baron Corbin as a punishment. The way everyone else was booked it was hard to tell, but Meltzer says that booking was a receipt.

Riddle, who got himself fired from UFC despite being on a winning streak and who Dana White despises, now has had backstage confrontations with Lesnar and Goldberg in just a few months and seems like he’s already gotten on Vince’s last nerve and he’s never even been a regular on the main roster yet.

Riddle blasted Goldberg on Twitter for his bad match with Undertaker in Saudi Arabia, and Goldberg ran into him backstage and was just like “Hey, don’t call me bro. We gotta talk.”  And Riddle was going to an interview and couldn’t stop, but he mentioned it and then footage of it wound up airing. It wasn’t much, but he runs his mouth and no one likes him.

Sounds to me like someone with legit shooting skills and a connection with the fanbase is making some people nervous.

I thought the reason Riddle was gone from UFC was dropping dirty for weed post-fight 2X, and have those results changed to from "wins" to "no contest".

HAHAHA! They didn't have a shooting match, or even a shouting match. They chatted, or pretty much Brock talked to Riddle but in no way should it be labeled a fight or even an argument.

Also any claims that he has major heat would be incorrect.

Lesnar won't work Riddle in my opinion because he will feel disrespected by this shit. If they do work, it will be ugly, but in a very stiff and realistic way...

According to Uproxx, before NXT there was a meeting in which the roster was told to never again call out anyone on the main roster and also to stop talking to dirt sheets. One anonymous NXT wrestler told the website Fightful, “They reminded me that I’m a contractor, then tried to tell me who I couldn’t talk to, so here I am.”

After watching this week's NXT, there's no way that Riddle has any heat with WWE management. Those skits with the Broserweights trying to get to Portland were great, and even featured Triple H.

Maybe Riddle has heat with whoever is supplying backstage news to the sheets.

And Dio Madden cut a promo on Brock Lesnar at an NXT house show last week, and we aren't going to see Lesnar vs Madden any time soon. I'm calling BS on all the Riddle backstage stories.

The latest according to Bryan Alvarez:

“As far as I know the Lesnar Riddle thing is not a work. Vince isn’t happy with Riddle calling out Lesnar, but Triple H doesn’t care. So, in Triple H’s mind if you wanna go out on an NXT show and call out Lesnar, then go ahead. Maybe one day it will catch on to the degree that people will want to get involved with it, but what I was told is there’s nothing going on. It’s not a work. Triple H doesn’t care. Vince doesn’t like it, but it’s NXT and NXT is NXT and Triple H is allowing Riddle to do it. That’s the story that I heard.”

According to a recent Cornette podcast, the backstage conversation between Lesnar and Riddle was Lesnar telling Riddle to keep his name out of his mouth, and not to worry about a program because it aint going to happen.
