Put me down for Harley Race.

Video has not been kind to him. I think he was 'great' by the way but from what is out there on video. When he came up north in 1980 to challenge Backlund there was no way he was winning (in my eyes at least)

Ronnie Garvin. I love Ron as the giant killer underdog midcard guy, but that spot (transitional NWA Champ in 1987) should of went to Barry Windham in my opinion.

I think most world champions from this period have been analysed enough that they are rated exactly where they should be. One big takeaway I have from looking over the old wrestling reports is that Lou Thes was way more over than the NWA title was. Until Kiniski won the title, Thesz was always a bigger draw than the champion, when he didn't hold the title himself. Thesz could fill an arena on his name alone, but Hutton, Watson and O'Connor didn't make much difference at the box office, and most promoters also gave up on ""championship prices" when it wasn't Thesz. But don't think any of this is new information, and the reigns of Watson, O'Connor and certainly Hutton are not overrated today, and their shortcomings as draws are known.

Bob Backlund. He was made champion for business reasons and pushed to the moon. Wasn't a draw before he got the belt, wasn't a draw after. The belt was over, not him.

I respect him as a family man and he had some good moments in the ring, but I don't like him as champion for nearly 6 years.

Verne Gagne anytime he held the AWA belt past 1970. He looked old and small and to compensate for that, used an illegal choke as his finisher.

Garvin would have been a fun World (OK.... AWA) champion 10 years earlier.

Dory Funk. Boring as fuck and a kayfabe-murdering finishing move that looks about as painful as putting on a hat. "Oh, he's crossing my leg, ouch, that really hurts, it's not as if I sit like that in the airport waiting room, what on earth can I do to get out of it with just the three limbs free?"

Tommy Rich. It was like Oliver from the Brady Bunch won the belt, but instead of sucking Robert Reeds dick, it was blowing Jim Barnett.

Is there anyone who rates Rich as world champion for him to be considered overrated?

I haven't seen much footage of Pedro as World Champ, but I'm not a fan of what I've seen of him as IC champ.
