Don't everyone answer at once.

I know that tv ratings went down, but the live crowds are still showing up and the stadiums look at least 75% full - and football isn’t easy to disguise the “hard camera” side. I think they could survive, but it’s going to depend on them making money on things other than attendance and rights fees...they need to make money on merch, and on the gambling app. If they do, they will be a viable product. But remember, for years both the Arena league and the CFL just bled money. I don’t think Vince will commit to that - hell, the Network is a profitable asset and he wants to blow it up because it isn’t profitable enough.

I couldn't believe LA dominating DC. Bigger shock was DC QB Cardale Jones trying to take the knees out of a LA player (who was no where near the ball carrier) with a cheap shot after one of Jones 3 picks. He was even flagged for a personal foul. Jones is a total hothead and a bit of a f'n douche bag to boot.

From AwfulAnnouncing:

The XFL’s ratings fell again in Week 3. After a 34 percent drop in average audience from Week 1 to Week 2, there was a further 23 percent drop from Week 2 to Week 3. Overall, the Week 3 average audience was just 52 percent of the Week 1 audience.

Yeah, they're probably done. It's a shame too because I actually enjoy the league.

Agreed. It’s actually fun to watch. Not sure how they can survive if ratings continue to drop.

Not sure how they can survive if ratings continue to drop. They seem to be doing ok overall - ratings or not.  Remember, their original go was with Network TV, and yes I realize they still have Network TV involved, but the ratings that they draw would be considered awesome on cable.  So if push came to shove and Fox thought that their Saturday and Sunday afternoons in February and March could have better programming, they could just send it to FS1.  Same goes with ABC - there are fifteen different iterations of ESPN, I'm sure that they can just move the games to ESPN 2 or something.  And if all of that fails...NBCUniversal is looking for as much programming as they can get for the launch of the Peacock Streaming service.  And Peacock is the reason why Vince is thinking about selling off his PPV cards from WWE Network because all of a sudden he has two viable networks in NBC and FOX that are just shoveling money at shit shows, so he's going to try and get every penny possible.
So no, I don't think this is the end in the least.  And I was one of the biggest skeptics of this after the AAAAAAAAF folded last year.  Vince, as long as he doesn't get tired of funding this (meaning he's not bleeding money), will keep it going and get broadcast rights somewhere along the way.  I say it again - they are drawing fans.  You can't understate that, if you have paid fans you have a viable product.  It's just a matter of whether or not they can cover the extreme expenses of a pro football league if the TV rights fees drop.

I’m curious what these paid fans are actually paying though. I receive at least 2 e-mails a week begging me to come to Guardians games for as little as $20. Sometimes I get the message from WWE, no doubt because I’m a Network subscriber, but sometimes I get solicitations directly from MetLife Stadium even though I’ve never even been to a Giants or Jets game (and that could be WWE just selling my e-mail to everyone they’re associated with, but I haven’t really been spammed by anyone else).

For the Houston team, face value is between $24 (end zone) and $108 (club/luxury).For the Dallas team, it's a little tricky since they play in the Rangers' old stadium with horrible sight lines. Face value is between $24 (upper end zone) to $96 near the 50 yd. line.
Both teams have "4 for the price of 3" and "3 games for $60" deals.

The fact that the morning sports shows on FOX and especially ESPN rarely acknowledge the existence of the XFL isn't helping the league either.
