So here’s a better pool since Raw’s Covid ratings are hopelessly sunk. Predict the viewership for the first Raw back in front of a real crowd, whenever that may be. Big bounce back or are the fans gone for good this time? Can Raw crack 3 million for that first show just because people missed it so much?
No chance. This isn't a switch that can be turned on or off...something needs to be done to draw in the audience. I believe that AEW will succeed in that quicker than WWE. I believe that WWE is going to lose more fans due to them being a family product, simply because the family of four is going to be the one that gets hurt the most financially in this situation. While that doesn't mean TV ratings will go down necessarily, I think that while the fans don't watch the empty arena shit that WWE is putting on, they are slowly losing faith in the overall product because without the fans in the stands they see just how shitty it is. Whereas with AEW, most of their fans are hardcore wrestling fans and they will find the money to support the alternative product. Which in turn will keep more eyes on the TV program in some way shape or form. Even worse? If Vince pulls the plug on WWE Network as it stands to license the PPVs to Fox, then people will really tune out.
