Does anyone know how Dark Side of the Ring is able to release these shows with all the WWF and WCW footage? Surely Vince isn’t just letting them use his video library.

That was my thought also, not sure how that’s legal per se but what do I know?!?

I've wondered the same.  None of the actual footage they use is high quality and it always seems to be from weird angles, but I still don't see how that could be legal.  It must be though or WWE surely would've shut them down immediately.

Using a certain amount of footage would be legally okay under fair usage, but that wouldn't explain the way they used said footage. My only guess would be that it stops someone from lifting the WWE footage from the documentary to use for something else. Using low quality footage would aid their fair usage argument, in that no one could argue that people are watching the documentary as a way to watch the WWE footage.

They get around it by filming it off a monitor. And I think the clips are brief enough where it falls under fair use.
