Ever consider this was a coordinated effort to discredit mail in ballots?

It's amazing how mail ballots have not been an issue until a grossly unpopular president and his party are trying to remain in power.

Here's a suggestion: Let's have all voting in person, but do it over a weekend; you can maintain social distancing and enforce the wearing of masks. Or would that also be problematic?

Do it the entire month of Nov in person.

I participated in early voting here in Ohio before the lockdown and it went smooth. Took about 7 minutes, no line no problems.

And actually no I’ve never considered it because Ive never considered mail in voting Trustworthy. I want to make my vote in person virus be damned

I had to scroll for awhile to get to this story even though it is recent because it was buried below how in favor the young, the old and tired are in favor of mail in voting.

My question to all of this is if the Dems really feel like they are the dominate force in political entertainment why do they keep wanting to change the rules?

The conspiracy theorist in me agrees with this. It is easier to suppress voters if you force them to vote in person. Then you can screw around with them at the voting places by creating long lines by short staffing and/or closing voting places in their area. Many people are not willing to wait over an hour to cast their vote. They also are not likely to anticipate a long delay to vote so they will have other higher priorities such as jobs, kids, etc that will require them to leave the voting place and not return.

There have been several reports in the news lately about mail carriers throwing mail away instead of delivering it. I wonder if that has been orchestrated as well...

I participated in early voting this year in Ohio (Primary) and in Texas (midterm) a few years ago when I lived there and both times it went smooth and easy. I was never suppressed, harassed or otherwise messed with. Why can’t states do in person early voting for a week or a month? If the masks and social distancing keep us safe why can’t people vote in person? I’ve been to Home Depot in person about 97 times since March and voting is way more important than any mulch, paint or grass seed I’ve bought.

If you go thru those links you will see votes DQ’d for a variety of reasons Not just due to the mail carrier and it amounts to x2 to x3’s the amount that in person votes are Historically dq’d.

Trump on Twitter:

"With Universal Mail-In Voting (not Absentee Voting, which is good), 2020 will be the most INACCURATE & FRAUDULENT Election in history. It will be a great embarrassment to the USA. Delay the Election until people can properly, securely and safely vote???"

And so it begins...

I'm assuming he hasn't run this by anyone else. All the legal analysis I have read says that Trump's term ends after four years whether he likes or not, even if no new president has been elected.

Who didn't see this coming?  The thing about Trump is that he has the balls to say ridiculous things months after everyone says he's going to say them, and he doesn't have the slightest care about optics.  He's playing to his core audience, and they love this shit.  I think the media gives him ideas sometimes, like what's the craziest thing he can say, and then Trump reads it and says, "I should say that."

Does this also mean he thinks he doesn't have a hope in hell of winning?

He didn't last time and screamed about how it was all "rigged", then he surprised himself by winning.
