It’s a perfectly fine Covid diversion spectacle, but I wouldn’t pay to see it.

I wouldn't pay to see it, but I still would like to see it. More of a 'slowing down on the freeway to check out the horrendous car crash' type thing. You all know the fight will be a work obviously.

A 54 year old and a 51 year old in a boxing ring?

Did the WBC  create a geezerweight division?

They're trying to copy WCW's business model from 1999. You know, because that worked out so well  in the end.

They announced that there will be no judges and no scoring, so this is barely a real fight. It will almost surely be ruled a draw. However there’s an automatic stoppage for blood. This has wrestling screwjob written all over it.

So it turns out that Tyson was training for an unannounced fight against Bob Sapp when a better offer came along with Jones. Holyfield and Fury were also contacted in the early stages.

Believe it or not, the best thing I've seen written about this comes from Dirty Dan Chernau...yeah really. He said that people are getting excited that Tyson still "has it" from watching 3 second bursts very cleverly edited together. Oh well, at least it seems they'll have it set up so no one gets hurt. Good for Mike, I'm sure he can always use a payday because I'm sure financial ruin is almost always just around the corner.

Yeah, I was thinking the same thing. I think the last time I saw Bob Sapp was in 'The Longest Yard' remake? I remember Meltzer being absolutely in love with him in the early 2000's.

Bob Sapp was a legitimate mainstream superstar in Japan.  Commercials, TV shows, billboard endorsements, I think he may have even released a couple of songs.  He made more money in those 3-4 years of fame in Japan than most pro wrestlers could make in 25 years.

Nobody said anything different. I know who Bob Sapp is.

Mike Tyson vs Tyson Fury? Unless they were planning on completely working the fight, Fury would have sent him home in a pine box.

Is it just me or does Mike Tyson now looks like a jacked-up version of Uncle Phil from Fresh Prince of Bel Air?
