I'm not so savvy on stuff like this so pardon me and my lack of technical vocabulary...

Is there a way to play 80s arcade games for free on a Mac.  I was watching a documentary of some arcade games and they were talking about emulators and some other shit that I've heard of but don't really know anything about.  I'm quite interested, but I'm worried that if I just Google it I'll end up with some spyware or a virus, so I'm asking the wisest collection of minds in the world.  Any thoughts?

This definitely works on PC. Should work in Mac.

Hopefully it works. The underlying software program, MAME (Multi Arcade Machine Emulator), is apparently tricky to run on MacOS.

I have a disc with most of the Nintendo NES games that works on a PC. If you can download a file folder from Google Drive, I’ll upload it in less than an hour.
