My preliminary proposal

Pick 4 cities with indoor stadiums

8 teams per 'bubble city'. To hell with 'home field advantage' nobody will be in the stands anyway

Games on Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday

Every 4 weeks (rotate among the 'bubble cities') the teams get a buy and everything (hotels, stadium) are sanitized while they go home to their families

Lets see....

Saints
Cowboys-retractable
Texans-retractable
Rams/Chargers-new
Raiders-new
Vikings
Cardinals-retractable.
Lions.
Colts.

It's doable rotating the 9  stadiums.

They were talking about this on ESPN radio yesterday. They were saying that the NFL has the advantage of seeing what worked and what didn’t with MLB, NBA, NHL and it’s very clear that they need to go with the bubble. That said, they also felt that the NFL is going to be the hardest hit if even one person on the field is infected and they don’t see how it’s possible that several entire teams won’t be infected after only a couple of weeks. MLB is the most naturally distant sport, NFL is the least. One pile-up and everyone on the field will get it if one person has it.

Beej should run for the commissioner of the NFL!

Only issue - why do the stadiums have to be indoor? I would think that since the coronavirus doesn't spread as well outside then you would want outdoor stadiums. You don't have to worry about rain outs or anything like that - this is football where they play under any weather condition.

I want them to play, but I’d take a second straight number 1 draft pick if we don’t!

Unfortunately, there is no way the NFL will play this year.

If the NFL plays more than 5 games this year, I will post a video here of me sucking off my horse!

If I can find it. I think it's in a box in the basement.

And now Philly coach Doug Pederson has tested positive for the Covid19...twice.

If the NFL doesn't have a bubble, I don't see how the season will actually get completed on time or possibly at all. One thought might be to start later. There are all kinds of stories about when a vaccine will be available. I doubt we will see one in calendar year 2020, but if there are any indications that the opposite would be the case, wait until it's ready and then start.

I hear (Tamalie) that on election night if you are voting Republican they will give you the vaccine before you step into the voting booth

Wouldn't surprise me if they said that.  My Aunt & Uncle went to a Trump fundraiser where donors were swabbed with Covid tests that were "instant" so they could enter.  They raised 5 million dollars, so it's good that all those instant tests came back negative.  No phones were allowed and no photos or recordings were permitted, but she said Trump was very funny and had all the donors laughing.

The thing about the vaccine is that it's likely to be more like a flu shot than a polio vaccine.  Meaning we won't see total eradication in regions where everyone gets it, we'll just see a 30% or 40% effectiveness for a season and then next year it might be less effective as the virus evolves and mutates.  If this is a continual cat and mouse game between scientists and the virus like it is with the flu then we're going to have to go through this every year from now on, and the vaccine is not going to be a magic bullet that makes everyone instantly safe.  I heard Covid is already mutating, so I'm not very optimistic.  I hope people are prepared for that and stop saying that they will completely put their lives on hold until after a vaccine is found, because we'll probably all be dead before this goes away completely.  Everyone freaks out when you mention annual flu deaths and say it's not a good comparison, but there are going to be annual Covid deaths going forward that are comparable and the sooner people accept that the better.
