Didn’t show up for the game in Atlanta and the Mets have no idea where he is.   I’m going to take a guess that he drove home to his ranch, not inconceivable after yesterday’s game, and something went wrong.  That’s my positive spin because the flip side is much worse.

Jon Heyman just tweeted: Have heard that at this time, the Mets have no reason to believe Yoenis’ safety is at risk. So that appears to be a positive development.

He’s a good dude, honestly like the guy and love the joy he shows playing baseball. Really hoping he did something stupid and overslept at home, which is like a 5 hour drive from Atlanta, then got stuck at a State border check.

In this day and age if you don’t get in contact with someone for hours, it’s because you don’t want to. Not sure what would cause him to go AWOL though. He doesn’t have a history of being flaky and having a bad few games after not playing for 2 years is hardly reason to have a mental breakdown. Weird. Chalk up another one to 2020.

Maybe he simply just doesn't want to play for the Mets anymore and has faked his own kidnapping.

He has pulled out from playing this season because of concern over the virus. I don't blame him.

This isn’t the way you go about opting out.

Some might say his game has been MIA for quite a while as well.

Just another head case, figures he can just do whatever he wants. Immature and not very bright.

Adam Schefter reported well over 3 hours ago that the team was informed he was opting out.

News just travels slowly here at S&W.

I watched the press conference with Brodie Van Wagenen and he said they had no idea he was even considering opting out until his agent called them towards the end of the game.

The team knew and ESPN announced it prior to the 7th post in this thread.  That's all I was saying.
