I do not know about Freight Train Jones, but he SD got psuhed in the WWF.  I am the only one who seems to remember him getting pushed for the tag belts with Bobo, but I am not sure if my memory is ocrrect, because nobody else seems to remember that.

Wasn't he also pushed with Rocky Johnson as tag team contenders?

Truly a great hand and loyal employee for the WW(W)F. As said here already, he came across as just a nice, down to earth man.

I believe S.D. started wrestling in his native Antigua in 1965. His first appearances for Vince the Elder were in 1974 and possibly 1973 even though I can't come up with any results (I'm sure it must have been TV jobs and not house shows if it was '73)

We talked about that some time ago. Bobo & SD were one of the teams in the ficticious tournament for the WWWF Tag belts that were vacant when Ken Patera "broke" Billy Whitewolf's neck. They did have some matches vs. The Executioners (one being on the first live show I ever went too, challenging for the belts) in the arena's.

RIP SD

Yes, they were known as The Soul Patrol, and participated,IIRC, in the Tag Team Tournament after Billy Whitewolf was injured by the swinging neckbreaker(swinging full nelson) at the hands of Ken Patera. Mr. Fuji & Prof. Toru Tanaka defeated Tony Garea & Larry Zbyszko to capture the belts.

This is sad - RIP SD!  Back in 2002 - 2004, Tony Atlas and I were talking about bringing SD up (if he was in the country) to Ontario to do a manager gimmick for Tony on a few shows.  SD said he would think about it, as he had been away from the business for so long, but as time went on the idea went forgotten and it never happened.

Funny thing too - because of all the enhancement guys that WWE went through, through the years, the only 2 that we ever used to get asked about were SD and Barry Horowitz.  It would have been nice for nostalgic purposes,  to have brought up him up for one last tour, but we never put it together.

This is not only the loss of a favorite wrestler to many, but of a really good guy too.

RIP!

during the atlas hall of fame ceremony,   s.d. looked like that he had hardly aged since the late 80's.   he appeared to keep himself in great shape.

Aw.  :(   I will miss him.  He was the face version to me of Johnny Rodz-the guy who was really good and was just *this* close to breaking through.

Thanks for posting that lobo. Someone had mentioned earlier that S.D. may not have received the push he should have got because of an accent. His voice was perfectly clear on the above video. Certainly much more decipherable than Morales.
