We had a casualty of war yesterday. With the scoring yesterday, Lobo has been mathematically eliminated.

El Olympico 66

Srossi 45

Carpetbeggar 43

Two questions this morning gotta nail em both to get the points.

When The Grand Wizard Of Wrestling passed away, who were the wrestlers in his "stable"?

At and around the same time the Grand Wizard passed on, "Classy" Fred Blassie underwent a bit of a change and instead of referring to himself as "Classy" he referred to himself as "________ Fred Blassie". Fill in the blank.

The easy one first.  Blassie called himself "Ayatollah".

Now the hard one.  I can only remember The Wizard managing Sgt. Slaughter and Masked Superstar at the time and Slaughter is the only one I'm really sure of.

1.)The Masked Superstar & Sgt. Slaughter
He was supposed to manage Paul Orndorff also when he died

2.) The Ayatollah

Everybody has scored the points on this one.

Yes the Grand Wizard passed away late 1983 and was only managing The Masked Superstar and Sgt Slaughter at the time

At that same time Fred Blassie was leading The Iron Sheik to his title upset win over Bob Backlund and was calling himself Ayatollah.

If Srossi or carpetbeggar are to catch "El Reresho" they are going to have to score four pointers and recruit some outsiders to score the 3-2-1 points that are out there or knock him off teh interweb.

Will be back likely between 1 pm and 2 pm EST with what I believe to be a very interesting question. Brush up on the tag team title folks.

Given how it all changed ~ how do you guys think The Grand Wizard would have done in the "sports entertainment era"?

I just couldn't imagine Roth as a cartoon character on the rock 'n' wrestling show. I have a feeling he would have retired like Blassie soon into the expansion.

I think you are right but he was sort of a cartoon character anyway. I could see him in the broadcast booth though. I don't think he would have fit in well in the new era but him as an announcer I do think would have been aces.

Would love to hear other opinions.

i think that roth or blassie would have been great as heel announcers.

I could totally see Wizard in that cartoon world.  He could've kept doing his thing another 10 years when managers started to be de-emphasized.
