HUGE game as #9 Oklahoma is actually favored to beat #1 Missouri. The Sooners beat Missouri earlier in the year, handing them their only defeat. With the help of four turnovers though. How does the rematch play out?

I like Oklahoma as well. Mainly I want to see the BCS screwed up some more.

A couple of my buddies out here are diehard Missou alums and even they aren't talking volumes of trash over their current ranking. They actually seemed pretty stunned by it and have a "just happy to be here" attitude. All that said, I think the Sooners take this one.

If OU holds on, who will the voters choose as Ohio State's opponent. Forget the "computer" fallacy. It's down to the USA Today Coaches Poll and the Harris Interactive Poll. If the non nonference champs (UGA and Kansas) are ineligible, then Virginia Tech, LSU, and Oklahoma would be the next in line (in that order as of Today's rankings). At that point it is basically up to the voters to pick the one who will be the opponent. Who would y'all pick? (I guess USC is still alive too, although they'd have to jump all three teams) Last edited on Sun Dec 2nd, 2007 04:29 am by BayouBoogie |

All of the prognositcators are saying that they won't allow Georgia in. I don't know. A bunch of people are telling me they made a rule where non-conference champs can't be in, but I just read the BCS rules, I couldn't find that. I don't remember ever hearing it, and I know for a fact that rule wasn't around before this year. So will the voters put UGA in over their own conference champs, who have one more win and only overtime losses? I think it is possible. The two teams never played so there is no head to head. Similar questions to ask about Kansas and OU, though I think those teams will be outside, looking in. It looks like one of the two SEC teams to me. Va Tech is the Dark Horse, but LSU whipped thier ass. How could they be in? Crazier things have happened. Last edited on Sun Dec 2nd, 2007 04:48 am by BayouBoogie |

I don't remember ever hearing it, and I know for a fact that rule wasn't around before this year. This "rule" came about after OU lost to K-state a few years ago in the Big 12 title game yet they still made it to the National Title game due to there BCS % being so much higher than the # 2 & 3 teams. I don't know if it is a real rule or if it was just a statement made by the voters & the BCS. As far as the game goes it was awesome to see OU impose there will on Missouri & just flat out beat there ass. All I got to say is OU is going to be scary bad next year. I've looked into it further and see that there is no such rule. People just think there is. That's not to say voters will allow it to happen, but it is not a written rule. What the did after OU made it in that year was remove the formula which had all sorts of things factored in (such as strenght of schedule, bonuses for playing ranked teams, etc). They put the power bakc in the hands of the voters, when simply making a provision about conference champions (maybe add a point for them) would have solved many problems.
