Recently on a baseball forum this same poll was done and the result was 18 for Jeter, 17 for Larkin, 11 for Larkin but Jeter may pass him someday and 3 with too close to call. So I ask here who do you rank higher Jeter or Larkin?

I know I'm biased so I pick Larkin but I also had the opportunity to watch far more games of Larkin when he was with the Reds than Jeter with the Yanks.

Jeter. I think Jeter is generally overrated and I think Larkin is a no-doubt-about-it Hall of Famer, but I still rank Jeter ahead.

Larkin scored 100 runs twice. Jeter did it every year of his career but two. Slugging percentage and on base percentage are close but Jeter has the edge. Consequently Jeter also has the slight edge in OPS (on base plus slugging) 120 to 116. Larkin has more career steals by a wide margin.

Coin flip I'll go with Larkin only because Jeter was surrounded by better players, so his stats get a boost. Both are/were great.
