The recent thread on the Destroyer(Dick Beyer) in Los Angeles and Indiana got be thinking about wrestlers who competed in both the WWA(Los Angeles) and WWA(Indiana). WWA-Los Angeles begins about 1960 and lasts until December, 1968 when they formally joined the NWA. WWA-Indian begins in 1964 and lasts until its dissolution in 1989 or 1990. Those who competed in Los Angeles exclusively in the post merger era and pre-WWA era and those who competed in Indiana pre-WWA do not count. Additions welcomed. Positive or fairly certain-* denotes those who were heavyweight champs in both WWAs. Dick the Bruiser* Bob Ellis* Bobo Brazil* Al Costello**(held tag team titles in both) The Destroyer(Dick Beyer) Edouard Carpentier Wilbur Snyder Nick Bockwinkle Ernie Ladd Pepper Gomez Blackjack Lanza The Sheik Pedro Morales (competed on a few Indiana cards in 1977) Rat Stevens Fred Blassie Lou Thesz Bearcat Wright Mighty Igor(Dick Garza in LA) Sailor Art Thomas Luis Martinez Pepper Martin Haystacks Calhoun Tony Parisi/Tony Pugliese Possible/Probable/ Definitely wrestled in one, may have wrestled in both(wrestled in an area near the other.) Joe Brunetti-competed in Indiana, wrestled in San Francisco- in early 60's. SF and La promotions did share talent. Mitsu Arakawa-see above. Tex McKenzie-wrestled in L.A,, also competed in Detroit and NWF. Black Bart-A Black Bart competed in both promotions, not sure it's the same individual. Chris Markoff-Formed the Devil's Duo with Angelo Poffo in Indiana. Won the Beat the Champ title in LA on March 5, 1969. He had been in Texas for much of 1968, I'm not sure he arrived in LA before the merger-December 18, 1968. Bruno Sammartino-Wrestled in Indiana, where he won the tag team title with Dick the Bruiser in 1973. Won LA Battle Royal post merger, I'm not sure that he competed in LA pre-merger. Rikki Starr-wrestled in LA. Also in areas bordering Indiana throughout his long career. Jerry Graham-Wrestled in Indiana, but I'm not sure ever wrestled in LA. Jay York(The Alaskan)-Wrestled in Indiana, and may very well have been in LA. Clyde Steeves-Wrestled in LA, did compete, to the best of my knowledge, in areas near Indiana under various identities. Don Fargo- Well traveled competitor who wrestled under several different names. I believe he competed in Indiana while in the NWF, I don't know if he was in LA pre- merger.

Pepper Martin Haystacks Calhoun Tony Parisi/Tony Pugliese I'm not sure about those three. Calhoun wrestled for Verne. I don't think he wrestled for Bruiser. DeNucci made it to Indianapolis but I don't think Parisi did. Don't think Pepper Martin did either. Tex McKenzie No on Tex. He wrestled for Sheik not Bruiser. Rikki or is it Ricky Starr didn't wrestle for Bruiser Jerry Graham. He wrestled for Sheik not Bruiser. Clyde Steeves. Don't think he hit Indy for Bruiser. Yes on Don Fargo. He was Don Fonzo Fargo in Los Angeles.

Ox Baker wrestled in Los Angeles with Enforcer Luciano as his partner. This must have been 1980 or so. The dying days.

Mitsu Arakawa and Joe Brunetti never wrestled for Eaton/Lebell. The only shots I have for them in L.A. were the 1961 L.A. Sports Arena shows that I think Shire promoted to try and break the territory.

Jerry Graham wrestled one time for Bruiser in the late 70's. Bruiser used him as he was passing through and the Good Doctor did the job for The Big Whiz. That is the one and only time I got to see Dr. Jerry Graham in person. The match was in Indy.
