Here in KC i would go with

Plaza III http://www.plazaiiisteakhouse.com/menu.php

The Golden Ox http://www.goldenox.com/

Hereford house http://www.herefordhouse.com/index2.php

This city though has tons of steakhouses that are mostly locally owned. We do have a Morton's also, but I never saw the logic in hitting a chain place when you have better local options.

KC is known for having great, local steakhouses.  That is one city i have never had the chance to visit.

There is a new Steakhouse out in Cheektowaga NY (near Buffalo) called the Hyde Park Steakhouse. It's a chain of high end Steakhouses, but it was probably the best meal I have ever eaten at a restaurant.

Here is a link

Delmonico's at the Venetian in Las Vegas is a winner.

In the Houston area, I'd go with Perry's on Bay Area Blvd.

Thanks Rhi:D.  I am headed to Vegas in May and am always looking for a good steakhouse that I have not eaten at before.

Shit, I forgot about Pappas. That is probably the best steakhouse I've ever been to.

What is your opinion on Ruth Chris Steakhouse? I have been there twice and liked it.

Sizzler on steroids.  If you're going to pay about $50 for a steak, there are tons of better options.

Agreed.  I have never been a fan.  Ate there 3 times and I enjoyed the steak once.  Not a good batting average.

I went there for a christmas dinner, it was ok. They must have been on their best behavior at that time of year.

I'm sure it was OK, but for $50 a steak I want elite, not OK.  The value just isn't there.  You can get much better for the same price.

Pappas is very good, but I'm telling you, Perry's is even better. Especially their pork chop... drooool.

It's excellent. You will not regret it. You will drop some bucks, but for the experience (and the friggin' steeeeak), it's worth it a couple of times.

I've eaten at Bobby Flay's MESA Grill in Caesars, and it is awesome. I haven't had a steak there, but they do have several steaks on the dinner menu. I'd be willing to bet they rock. The tiger shrimp tamale appetizer is to die for. I know that sounds strange, but believe me, it ain't.

A friend went to Blackstone's in the Monte Carlo and loved it, but it looks like they've revamped the place, down to the name. Still, it might not be a bad gig.

In Chicago, it's a tossup between The Chop House or Gibsons.

Both excellent.
