I'll start out by giving the first clue. Every time there is a wrong answer, I'll give another clue. The person that gets the answer correct will pick the next player and be the clue giver.

He played in the 1960s.

Fuck that was a flat out guess.  It was almost said Mookie Wilson.  How was he drafted 6 times?

I guess that he just never signed with the teams that drafted him. Here is the list I got from a sports site:

June 5, 1974: Drafted by the Montreal Expos in the 19th round of the 1974 amateur draft, but did not sign.
January 7, 1976: Drafted by the Kansas City Royals in the 1st round (5th pick) of the 1976 amateur draft (Secondary Phase), but did not sign.
June 8, 1976: Drafted by the Chicago White Sox in the 1st round (14th pick) of the 1976 amateur draft (Secondary Phase), but did not sign.
January 11, 1977: Drafted by the Oakland Athletics in the 1st round (2nd pick) of the 1977 amateur draft (Secondary Phase), but did not sign.
June 7, 1977: Drafted by the Chicago White Sox in the 1st round (3rd pick) of the 1977 amateur draft (Secondary Phase), but did not sign.
June 6, 1978: Drafted by the New York Mets in the 1st round (3rd pick) of the 1978 amateur draft

Wow - I just noticed that he was drafted in the 1st round 5 different times. That would make a great sports trivia question which I doubt most people would know.

Grich was a pretty good player, had a great year in '79.

This player debuted at 3B, but primarily played another infield position during his 18 year career.

OK - now this one has ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to do with the Red Sox ( or does it ???? ).

This pitcher spent his entire 13 year career with the team that drafted him.

OK - try not to take this to personally but I am really starting to HATE YOU !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ;)  Well at least you didn't get it after just 1 clue so I guess I should be somewhat satisfied. You are up.

Fuck!  He was my original pick, but I didn't think he played for that many teams.

Hard to believe he was only an All-Star once.  Did he have an injury that made him a full time DH?  He played some centerfield, so I assume he was a decent outfielder at some point.

even though he had only 5 career HR'S in 1749 AB'S, he hit 2 HR'S in the same game from both sides of the plate after coming in as a reserve.

No - was this player drafted by TB from one of those teams or was he originally drafted by TB and then went on to play with those teams ????
