Sorry to spam the forum this morning - I need help on this - people I work with are "significantly older" than me (in their 50s) and on 12/19/07 I am declaring myself clueless. Any good multi-purpose ideas? Also what is the going rate (appropriate expenditure) these days on your boss or co-workers if there is such a guideline?

Gift cards, but not the Visa cards because there're too many ways for Visa to screw you. Sure, they're impersonal but people love to get 'em. Another convenient idea is Omaha Steaks. Order online and they're shipped frozen, I believe. I guess this requires you know whether or not your boss or co-workers are vegetarians.

Computer related items are out. This is a generation that grew up reading. So, a good book might do. If they're really old, Viagra for the men, Depends for the women.

Good suggestions - trying to stay away from the gift card thing. (shows little thought put into things) The Omaha Steak thing I believe will drain my wallet. Everyone is computer literate so actually any suggestions there in terms of "cool things for the computer" may work. Thanks for the ideas (you have me off of brain-lock at least) -- keep 'em coming
