That's great. I hope the real story behind her resignation comes out (although I suspect it'll never see the light of day) and she's forced to live the rest of her life as a bigger political joke than she already is. I love it when the Palins of the world get what's coming to them. |

No, I'm a huge supporter of Palin, but this is Bullshit. Taking the remarks on the surface, she is resigning so that she won't be a "Lame Duck". Horse Shit. That's when most shit actually gets done, when you don't have an election to loose. 2nd, They FUCKING ELECTED YOU FOR 4 YEARS...NOT 3 and A HALF!!! I'm sure shit is about to hit the fan. By Monday, for sure. |

Palin said the decision to resign had been in the works "for a while" and was based on prayer and talking with her husband, Todd, and their five children. Her kids, she said, encouraged her to step down. I bet the one "hell yeah" was from God himself, who has gotten tired of these Republicans praying to him every 5 seconds and then ignoring His advice to make ridiculously stupid decisions. God wants a rest and he has officially put his cell phone on "Silent". Last edited on Sat Jul 4th, 2009 12:08 am by srossi |

It paints her in an extremlely unflattering light and kind of implied there was other things on the horizon that would lead to her downfall. It also mentioned that her approval rating has plummeted in Alaska since November. I honestly don't think this has anything to do with her gearing up for 2012...it seems completely conterintuitive to me for this to be political strategy. Again, karma's a bitch. I would hope that that fossil Letterman would rip her a new asshole on his show, but I think he's already proven he's too much of a pussy to be that ballsy anymore. |

If amerorig is a "huge supporter" of Palin then I suppose that would put him and me on diametrically opposite points on the political spectrum. So, that said, amerorig is exactly right. The lame duck session is where all the tedious, boring, un-controversial and vitally necessary projects get passed, funded, completed and overseen. It's where work gets done, rather than when attention-whores get the crack-high of media glare. Last edited on Sat Jul 4th, 2009 02:01 am by Heretic |

Hey, I don't think "hot MILF" is a bad thing. I also think this could very well be the end of her political career. You can't quit a job. You can quit campaigning for one, and live to fight another day, but you can't just quit a job you're holding, for no better reason than because the going got a little rough. The "quitter" label will haunt her the rest of her political life, if she tries to have a political life. Last edited on Sat Jul 4th, 2009 02:24 am by Heretic |

Someone floated that there may be a offer on the way from Fox News or some shit, and I could see that. As far as her approval rating in Alaska, How could ANYONE's approval rating stand up to being the whipping boy of every single Pop Culture outlet, from the Hip (SNL, Tina Fey, Letterman) to the shitty also rans, (TNA Wrestling). The shit is beginning to hit the fan. http://www.bradblog.com/?p=7280 "Okay, I’ve now been able to get independent information from multiple sources that all of this precedes what are said to be possible federal indictments against Palin, concerning an embezzlement scandal related to the building of Palin’s house and the Wasilla Sports Complex built during her tenure. Both structures, it is said, feature the “same windows, same wood, same products.” Federal investigators have been looking into this for some time, and indictments could be imminent, according to the Alaska sources." |

I agree that this has a lot to do with her trying to avoid getting tangled up in potential scandals while possibly starting a Presidential campaign. There's been a lot of long time officials who quit or got suddenly replaced after butting heads with Palin. It seems to be an almost unanimous opinion even among the Republicans up there that she's impossible to work with and is more interested in national attention than actually taking care of state business. Of course it will be blamed on the GOP's favorite strawman, the evil media, and not that they largely hung their hats on a woman who not only has little experience but seems to not know much about anything that doesn't directly involve her (a huge difference that gets ignored by the people who try to compare her to Obama in terms of being a political newbie). She got exposed not by the OMG LIBRULMEDIA but by her opening her own mouth and sounding like every stereotypical smug republican who wants to push the country back to the 50s. |

Let me explain this for those who need some help with it. Palin and Obama both have limited political experience relative to what one might expect for presidents and would-be presidents. The salient difference is that Obama is particularly bright and Palin isn't. |

I'm afraid she is just going to trot around the country, yelping about Obama being a baby murdering socialist for the next few years. Palin being stuck way out in Alaska (with some responsibility) is a good thing. Maybe the house scandal will happen and she really will be gone, but I wouldn't be suprised if it takes the 2012 election and only winning the deep south and a few other states for her to finally go away. The GOP is pretty much what the American Independent Party was in 1968, unless the major scandals happen Palin will be nominated in 2012. It doesn't matter that she quit her job, all that matters to the GOP base is that she didn't abort her downs baby. Last edited on Sat Jul 4th, 2009 10:56 pm by sportatorium roach |

That has to be the weakest criticisim ever. Every president has speech writers and reads from a telepromptor. Obama is great at delivering those words. Conservatives just think it's fishy, because their last guy couldn't fucking read it. Maybe that was thier strategery, though. |

Oh man:
Its a wonder that republicans can get anything done, what with that evil media always trying to bring them down. Also lol @ threatening lawsuits to anyone who dares mention all the shit she's involved with. Is it no longer a right wing talking point to bash lawyers and lawsuits, or is that only when poor people and minorities are involved? Last edited on Sun Jul 5th, 2009 07:14 pm by sek69 |

I realize that neo-cons had nothing else to go on when they first came up with that, but Obama's done a fairly disappointing job in the last few months and that's STILL the best they can do. It shows how clueless Republicans and their braindead fanbase are right now. If Obama was caught with a dead 12-year old Korean hooker, Republicans would say he was a horrible President because he read his denial off a teleprompter. People really need to think before they post such embarrassing statements. Every President uses a fucking teleprompter! It helps when there are facts and stuff to remember. Bush had none of those and often got lost when trying to read it anyway (not a joke, he really did), so he used one less but still used one. Last edited on Sun Jul 5th, 2009 07:22 pm by srossi |

Republicans/Conservatives are consistantly missing the point on Obama. Bush was in fact a shitty speach maker. The problem with republicans is that the only people they have that can make a lucid argument all have radio shows and make too much money to actually lead. |
