What do people know about this?  From Wikipedia:

In 1991, Herb Abrams was owed money by Steve Ray and wrongly suspected that Ray was sleeping with his wife. On May 20, 1991 at a television taping in New York City, Abrams paid Steve Williams an extra $100 for the night to break Ray's nose during their match. The ensuing shoot aired in its entirety on an episode of Fury Hour.

You guys would bitch if you were hung with a new rope.  It wasn't that bad.  Crockett took away from a broadcast.  Abrams adds nothing.  I'd take Abrams style over "Ohhh Ohhhh look at that... Ohh Ohhh a headlock."

The half hour show is a bit rushed, but it was still OK.   I've only watched the first episode, so I reserve the right to change my opinion after seeing more.

I just went through my TIVO of the two eps that aired last night.  Patera did not look very good, but it was cool to hear Bruno as the announcer (kind of like the WWF days!).

I'll Tivo the run and erase until the episodes where Backlund shows up.  He did wrestle there for a while, right?

I remember the Apter magazines building the UWF up... even Eddie Ellner made a comment that the UWF was becoming his favorite federation.  I would read about Bruno, the Captain, Dr. Death, Paul Orndorff, some new stud named Stevie Ray, this duo that could be the Road Warriors of the 90's called the Power Twins... I couldn't wait to see it but at the time I didn't have cable.  But one day while at my Grandma's I got to watch the episode where Bob Backlund made his return and brawled with Ivan Koloff.  After that, I thought within months the UWF would be right behind the WWF and WCW.  The next time I saw the UWF was later that year, and I remember some guy I never heard of called Joshua Ben Gurion and another wrestler who carried around a monster stuffed animal.

I thought his name was Joshua Bengorian.   He is the guy I remember too.  He was supposed to be Isreali Special Forces or something.

Joshua Ben Gurion was a fixture on the east coast indies in the late80s/early 1990s. Sometimes he was booked as Jewish Champ or something like that. I know he appeared in ICW Salvoldi too.

The show I saw first starts with Billy Jack vs a scrub. Anyone have original air dates for these??   I had no idea they did but they clearly did at least one taping in Spartanburg SC.

Why did Chief Jay Strongbow look so much younger and move so much better in 1990 in the UWF than in 1980 for the WWF?  One of life's great mysteries.

I have seen UWF tv that was taped in Reseda Ca & @ an outdoor venue (I think it was @ Nickelodean studios or Universal Studios or some shit like that)

Franchise is correct. It started out being taped in California. I did a little research about it on OSW. I think somebody recently bumped up a thread over my there with what little research I did on the matter before getting bored.

The entrance music is so wildly inappropriate it's hilarious.  Paul Orndorff comes out to "Can't Touch This".  Billy Jack Haynes has "My Michelle" where the line " So you stay out late at night/And you do your dope for free" is so clearly audible as Bruno tries to put him over as a "real gentleman".  It's just ridiculous.  Any song that was popular in 1990 was randomly assigned to a wrestler.
