Maybe I'm getting old, but I am beginning to love both of these albums by Springsteen.

I know there are other Bruce fans here, any opinions on these two albums?

Loved Human Touch back about 17 years ago.  Got loaded to that CD many times.

"Cross My Heart" is a great drinking tune.

When this part came on from the song "Human Touch" a bunch of us guys knew it by heart and we would all join in...Classic line from lyrics

So you've been broken and youve been hurt
Show me somebody who ain't
Yeah, I know I ain't nobody's bargain
But, hell, a little touch up and a little paint...
You might need something to hold on to
When all the answers, they dont amount to much

I actually preferred Lucky Town a bit more with Better Days, Lucky Town, Local Hero, Living Proof and My Beautiful Reward, even though I still enjoy both albums.

It's too bad he didn't use the acoustic version of Real World on Human Touch. Have you guys heard that one from his Christic  Benefit Shows around 1990?

They were released on the same day, and I think they should've been combined and pared down to create one, strong album as opposed to two mediocre (for the Boss) albums. There are songs off the two that I like (57 Channels and Nothin' On, Lucky Town, Better Days) but lots of filler, too.

So, a somewhat similar situation to Load and Reload by Metallica. Though those two albums were released a year or so apart, all the songs were from the same sessions. Combining would've yielded a much stronger album than two albums with filler.

Getting back to the Boss, I usually tend to skip his 90s output. I love the live version of Lucky Town from the Unplugged show and the newer version of The Ghost of Tom Joad where Tom Morello guests and tears the house down (Nils Lofgren plays the Morello role on the tour and it's dynamite, of course).

Is this on YouTube?  I'd love to see Morello do this.

I believe so. My buddy had it on his iPod, so I think he got the vid from the Boss' website, but I believe it's on YT, too. It's freaking amazing.
