We just finished an incredible 90 minute program with Jeff Walton talking about the LA wrestling scene from 1969.  Details like never before courtesy of the hard work of James Zordani researching all Olympic shows from that year.

It's an experimental program and if you like it, we can and will do much more

James Zordani is the best ... all the effort he has put in helping us and I think it will start to pay huge dividends ... Jeff really enjoyed going over the old results ...

We were going to do 1969 and 1970, but we ran out of time around September of 1969 ... had to finish the rest of 69' quickly and save 1970 for next Tuesday

(if you guys enjoy we will do much more)

Hmm...well I recall once in a Yahoo Chat, Mr Crimson Mask said "Fuck James Zordani" in reference to his historical acumen when it came to rasslin'. So he's got to be cool enough to have CM get that pissed.

How could you say that about James?

He is supplying us results at a pace that we have trouble keeping up with

If you guys like this style show (booking sheets), please email me so we can do more

Claw,  I like how you put CM in his place with those Dakota results. I knew you'd be on it like a fly on crap when he made his statement about the Dakotas.

I love a good CM proven wrong story.  What happened?

It's funny. He's adamant ND was booked out of Omaha. Then after Jim posts the results, he's like......"Well.....maybe I was wrong. Then deflects at the end saying he really meant it was SD not ND.

At least he's better than the usual poking in the dark.

"What you say - there was wrestling before my childhood territory? This cannot be. Liiiiiiies"
or
"On page 182 of his autobiography Lou Thesz writes...."

Join the IWC if you are too dense or stupid to do your own research.

Out of curiosity, I decided to see if I could figure out just what exactly South Dakota was doing. I know the AWA ran a few shows from Mitchell.

Who would have been running the cards in 1953 and 1968?

January 29, 1953 Huron, SD (Arena)
Mike DiBiase vs. Joe Dusek
Dick Dusek vs. Bob Nelson
June Byers vs. Cora Combs
Ida Mae vs. Mary Jane Mull

DiBiase is replacing Pat O'Connor. First card at the Arena.

March 26, 1968 Mitchell, SD (Corn Palace)
Doug Gilbert/Reggie Parks/Stan Pulaski vs. Mike DiBiase/Bob Orton/Jim Starr
Mike DiBiase vs. Doug Gilbert
Jim Starr vs. Reggie Parks
Bob Orton vs. Stan Pulaski

December 1, 1971 Mitchell, SD (Corn Palace)
Ray Stevens vs. Billy Robinson
Bull Bullinski vs. Nick Bockwinkel
Jack Pesek vs. Dennis Stamp
Joe Scarpello vs. Jack Bence
