The Cubs ain't making the playoffs. The White Sox ain't gonna make it either. So once again I'll have to choose another team to root for in the baseball playoffs. I'm sick of the Red Sox. Hopefully Texas beats them for the AL wild card spot. I wouldn't mind rooting for the Rangers. Hey I'd even root for the Yankees. Anybody but the Cardinals or the Red Sox.

Sell me on a team to root for.

Colorado Rockies. They're about to take over the NL West lead from LA after being like 15 games back in June.

The Angels. They have the coolest fans of any team on this board, plus they have a sweet halo logo.

With the Indians having tanked yet also safely out of last place, I've jumped on the Rockies bandwagon.  Their series with the Giants was probably the best 3-game series of the year and they had another doozy last night with the Dodgers.  They're a real fun team to watch with some pretty great...*gasp*...PITCHING.

Rangers, although they shit the bed tonight. We actually have decent pitching this year.

I've given up on both Chicago teams so it would be nice to see Texas in for a change.

This ^^^

I am a Yankees fan, but have been impressed with The Rockies the last few years. Very scrappy, well disciplined team that is fun to watch.

The Yankees.  They are finally fun to watch again as they seem to be a real team for the first time in maybe 5, 6, 7  years.  AJ Burnett has surprised all by being a very positive influence (I was WAY against signing him). Plus, they've done more (very public) charity stuff this season for kids and that thing they did with the children unable to live in sunlight was over the top awesome.

Plus, Jeter is a legit caring athlete who plays his heart out and is leading the team after years of getting bashed.  I'd love to see him get another ring.

And the fact that Gary Sheffield, Randy Johnson, Carl Fucking Pavano, Bobby "I hate all outfield play" Abreu, The Giambino, etc....will not be there to get the ring.

But if you gotta do it, pick the Marlins.  It's their year after all (every 6 years........)

Colorado & Texas are both good picks.

He's lucky he's in New York. With the kind of money he's getting, a 10-8 record in a smaller market would have the EPIC FAILURE tag already tattooed on the middle of his forehead.

Record notwithstanding, I've watched him pitch some really good games this year.

I'd like a Rangers-Phillies WS, just to piss off the networks.

I may throw my support behind St. Louis, though. Afterall, they do have my favorite Cub, Mark DeRosa.

This is a bizarrely backwards statement.

I'm not a Tigers fan these days, but I do root for Marcus Thames.
When he was 5 years old, his mom was paralyzed from the neck down.
Somehow, she managed to raise 5 children as a single parent.
As for Marcus, I don't why the Tigers don't play him full time.
He likely has more power than any of the other Tigers.
