Who was it? Who had a substantial post-1985 career who never did a PPV?

I'm only counting live PPVs or PPVs the aired not long after the original event took place - the old AWA compilation PPVs, etc..., don't count.

My pick is Kevin Von Erich. I can't remember him performing on a PPV.

He didn't have a long career post-1985 for obvious reasons, but I'm saying Bruiser Brody.

Trying to think of some Memphis guys who were around forever but never appeared on PPV.

I think Jeff Gaylord made his one and only PPV appearance under a mask as one of Jerry Lawler's Knights at that Survivor Series.  Doug Gilbert's only PPV appearance was in a Royal Rumble so he's out.

Bill Dundee might be a great one, unless he had a match in WCW as Sir William (pretty sure he only managed on PPV, never wrestled, could be wrong).  Brickhouse Brown and Austin Idol are two more strong possibilities.  Jos LeDuc probably hung around a bit after '85 and was never on PPV.

Aside from Brody, has there actually been a post ' 85 star that hasn't appeared on PPV?  I really don't think so, I mean there have been Japanese and Mexican PPVs so this will be a tough one to find someone.

Magnum TA (though Crockette didn't do PPV until 1987), but you did say post 85... Magnum might have appeared, but never wrestled.

Idol is a good one. I think he's right at the top, following the criteria.

Was Kamala ever on PPV? I didn't watch early 90s WWF PPVs, so he probably was, but I don't know it.

Kamala worked a few PPVs, including Summerslam '92 for the WWF and Fall Brawl '95 for WCW.

Buddy Rose kicked the whole PPV thing off...

Did PG13 ever make it that far?

Doug Gilbert also wrestled The Great Muta at WrestleWar 89.

PG-13 appeared on some WWF PPVs as the rappers for the Nation of Domination, and they wrestled The Dudley Boyz at Hardcore Heaven 97.

Kamala was in the gimmick battle royal at WM 17, which also featured Steve Lombardi as Kim Chee, ruling him out.

The Royal Rumble and WW3 events and the early Survivor Series used so many wrestlers that pretty much everyone who wrestled in either WCW or WWF between 1987 and 2000 had to appear on a PPV at some point.

Colt Cabana never had a PPV match as Scotty Goldman, for more modern wrestlers never to get a PPV.

For some reason I think wrestlemania 1 actually was a closed circuit broadcast ...I seem to recall the wrestling classic being billed as the first PPV.
