What a bitch.

There's gotta be more to this than the reason given.

Who knows though I'm sure Greg will give his side of what happened soon. i'm sure Bret will too give his 'version' of what went down.

This sucks though anyway you look at it.

Bret Hart being a cunt is not news.

What's everyone's beef with Oliver though?  I've always found him to be easy handed and a good read - I know his comment on Bret, but it aint like what he wrote isn't true.

While Oliver's claim that Bret was the only the 14th best Canadian wrestler in history is far-fetched, assuming this report is credible, the fact that Bret decided to lash out in such an inappropriate manner as a means of retaliation speaks volumes of him as a human being and, more specifically, his undeserved over-inflated ego. Frankly, the report seems a little embellished, and I'd be shocked if any of the wrestlers left without returning. I'm really looking forward to seeing the DVD of this, just so that way we can all develop our own conclusions as to what really happened.

What surprises me most though is that Bret hasn't written continuously about Oliver and what an overrated journalist Bret feels that Oliver is. That would certainly be consistent with Bret's history. Wait, I forgot, that's usually reserved for those unsuspecting peers who haven't said anything negative about him. Bret sure does seem to find himself involved in a lot of mud-slinging, based off the fact that he believes he's a hero, role model and the greatest ever.

Here's what I wrote on another board in response to how many Canadian Wrestlers had better careers or were better wrestlers than Bret Hart.

Whipper Billy Watson
Gene Kiniski
Pat Patterson
Yvon Robert
Mad Dog Vachon
Earl McCready
George Gordienko
Don Jardine (The Spoiler & Super Destroyer)
Ivan Koloff
Bronko Nagurski
Hans Schmidt

I could only come up with 11. Chris Benoit has an argument to be number 12 but I liked Bret better than Chris. What the list does show is Bret was the best Canadian wrestler of his generation. The only guys that are close are Benoit and Bret's brother Owen.

Man, Bret has always been such a huge mark for himself to the point where you totally understand why Vince felt he had to do Montreal since Bret apparently is still under the impression wrestling is real.

Watch "Wrestling With Shadows" and hear Bret talk about the Hitman character as a superhero for all Canadians and realize that he's speaking as if he really a superhero instead of a guy who rolled around in spandex with other dudes doing fake fightery.

Technically, he ranked Bret Hart 17th.

This analogy is perfect!

Even though he technically wasn't Canadian, he pretty much is regarded as a Canadian wrestler, Edouard Carpentier. I'd also toss in Larry "Abdullah" Shreeve.

LOL at ranking "The best there is the best there was and the best there ever will be" at #14.

I would put Bret ahead of one or two names on Claw's list and that list of "better" is pretty archived so I give him all due credit but public speeches aren't the time to settle matters of opinion.

Beej, how about inviting Oliver here to S&W ? He posted occasionally
at OSW, admittedly to plug his books.
I'd like to hear his response to Bret's actions. Bret's problem is that he
really believes he is "the best there is, the best blah blah blah blah".

God, wrestlers are such a bunch of whining, deluded, egotistical fucking lemmings.  I hope Bret led them all off of a big bridge.  "He ranked me 14!"  Here's a pacifier, you stroked out cunt.

Better yet lets do a S&W "Greatest Canadian Wrestlers List," rank Bret #1 and invite Bret here. I'm sure he'd sign up after that. It would be way more fun to have  Bret posting here than Greg.

Bret Hart is a horse's ass.  If the accounts are true, it was a total inappropriate venue to address his displeasure with Oliver.  His actions brought controversy for something that was supposed to be pleasurable.  In the words of Good Ol' Buddy, Hart showed "no respect" to his fellow wrestlers, even if he did convince a couple of his cronies to join him in the protest.
