It's a shame that when he was in McMahon-land they didn't give him a crazy gimmick (like a "Wolfe-man" schtick) or something like that ~ he would be very marketable today because he worked for everybody Vince, WCW, Fritz, etc

300 - the osw gang (if there are any left) will buy a bunch.  I have to assume family and friends will purchase also.  Maybe his proctologist will show him some love.

Wouldn't he sell 200 alone between his kids and Juanita's?

Actually make it 201 as I'll probably buy a copy. I wonder if I can get him to sign it "To carpetbeggar?"

The mantra of "everything in the entire world is a WORK" got old, fast.

I think most people don't dislike Dusty, really, but that philosophy being espoused again and again makes him a target.

I've got nothing against him personally and I bet most others here don't.

I have nothing against Dusty either. He seems to be a good guy. In addition to the everything in life is a work troll, Dusty has bad taste in women. Who in their right mind would fuck Jade on a regular basis? I think Jade is really cool but there's no way I'd do her. She could pass for a tranny.

Update. http://www.rasslinriotonline.com has all the info. Instead of two, we've decided to publish just one book. I figure James can handle it. Puts the release date back to early Sept.

In all fairness, Dusty's always been cool to me. I think he was starting to get that condescending attitude that a lot of old pro wres fighters have towards "civilians" (YOU WEREN'T THERE~~~). The fact that he was a JOBBER (that's right I said it) for most of his career makes it all the more puzzling.

I like Dusty for the most part I think.:D

Does anyone know what his opinion of Dr. Jeffy was when he(JeffY) was getting all of his heat on OSW. I'm not talking about what he posted on the board but what he might have said in the 'super-secret' mods forum and various pm's?

This ties into my lack of afinity for Dusty and for Ken Timbs. They were essentially jobbers who only got a couple of minor pushes in territories that were very low on the totem pole. Ken later got a big push in Mexico at the dawn of a boom period for the business down there at a point where no American promotion wanted him. Yet in their early days on the various message boards and probably still, they acted as if they had careers that brought them the kind of fame, acclaim, and wealth of people like Steamboat and Michaels. That they dished that and others readily accepted it never sat well with me.

I don't recall Ken ever playing up his level of fame as anything more than it was. He was down to earth and he downplayed his Mexican success to the point that when Jose Fernandez wrote up an obituary that went into detail about his Lucha Libre career, many posters on OLC were surprised by how much success he had there. He also didn't have the "I was a wrestler so I am better than all of you marks" attitude that Dusty has. He was "one of the guys" at OLC who treated everyone with the same respect.

He was typically quiet about things. The only things that got under his skin were BobM and "the OLC guys".

I have no beef with Dusty that I know of.  We generally got along and had some good discussions, but to me his attitude as the glorified simple man and good ol' boy got stale over time.  He knew everything about nothing and nothing about everything.

I look at Dusty using the opportune time to use his gimmick/work on the message boards.  Just look at the culture over the last few years, the NASCAR craze, Larry the Cable Guy, Gretchen Wilson, etc.  It was supposed to be cool living the redneck lifestyle.  I don't even have a problem with that, but when Dusty tried to use this as justification for him to know about anything, it became a problem.  Many people called him on it, then he really would act like degenerate by name-calling or playing the hard-ass role in which somehow that means what he says is the gospel.   Thank goodness the redneck era and fad is fading quickly.  He is narrow-minded with no real meaningful facts behind his debates and arguments other than "because I know" for whatever reason he was using that day.

I pretty much enjoyed his wrestling stories.  I found his wide knowledge of Bruno as horseshit.  Just because he met him does not somehow make him the all-knowing.  I met Bruno a few times, also, does that make me the most knoweldgeable person about Sammartino?

There were alot worse ex-wrestlers than Dusty who go around trying to blow their own horn.  Dusty did that on occasion but not much.

I did enjoy communicating with Ken.  Seemed like a genuine good guy, but then his downfall was when Juanita took aver the keyboard, and we began living the whole redneck thing over with Juanita calling the shots.  Dusty definitely knows alot more than Juanita when it comes to about any subject.  She is a total box of rocks!
