Riddle me this, how good or bad is AEW? I tried to watch it once, but I couldn't get into it. I hate that three guys hugging on the floor waiting for the 4th guy to climb the ropes and jump on them bullshit. I've bitched about it before, but I can't suspend disbelief that much. If they had their backs to him while he climbed and snuck an occasional peek I could buy it, but 3 guys watching some douchebag climb the ropes to splash them and not getting out of the way is too fucking stupid for me.

Anyway, I came across AWE Botches on the Youtubes, and fuck is that shit embarrassing. I realize that's a compilation over time, but there are at least 14 minutes of God-awful fuck ups and AEW hasn't been in business that long. Jackie Gayda had a fuck up like that and was never seen in a match again.

I've watched a shit ton of wrestling in my days and I've never seen so much horseshit. Is AEWas bad as it seems?

WWE have so few botches because it's hard to botch punch-kick style.

All wrestling is pretty ridiculous. You'll never like it if you don't want to like it. I don't think AEW is for you.

If you search out videos of botches, you’ll probably find them. WWE has been editing there’s out during the Covid era with no fans, which are pretty easy to spot sometimes. their production team is also a little quicker to cut shots as they see a botch developing.

Melter says that the original plan was for Andrade to confront Omega at the end of Slammiversary instead of Jay White, but they couldn’t come to financial terms. The angle would’ve seen the Andrade-Omega build for Triplemania play out on Impact since AEW has no interest in furthering that storyline, and Impact would’ve heavily promoted AAA. With the deal dead, it was decided that Impact would instead help promote the White-Finlay match that crosses over with NJPW, and also tease a Bullet Club civil war between White and Omega in the process, which could continue in AEW and NJPW down the line. White lives in Florida when he’s in the U.S. and was asking for less money to appear.

There was that time when the girls tag match went to commercial, and they stopped wrestling and were standing in the ring just talking and going over what their next spots were going to be with each other.  Forget about AEW and botches, nothing is worse than that.  I agree that there are too many fuckups for AEW but they all wrestle that spot monkey style.  Like Sin said earlier in a more roundabout way, what makes you great is how you sell things like this.  You can't just have three guys stand around looking at the fourth going to the top rope...those three should be slugging it out, back to the ring and have some sort of cue to know when to turn.  They practice spots all the time, what they need to do is practice spacing of the spots just as much, and pacing of the match, and properly selling a move.  Instead, lets drop a guy on his head for a 2.5 count, then have him pop up after that and do his own move.  When you get a 2.5 count, that guy should be half dead - not ready to work.  If he's in that crisp condition, have him kick out at 1.  There are  nowhere near enough kickouts at 1 anymore.

The NY Post obtained this quote from Tony Khan regarding Punk and Danielson: "I can’t comment on those two guys, but I think there are certainly a lot of exciting rumors right now."

If he didn't sign them, then he's committing suicide by teasing that he might have. I think this has to be a done deal.

You’re smoking the high quality shit tonight, it shows in your spelling and grammar (and thought process).

I never thought I’d see Jericho wrestle with pains of glass and light tubes. This match was quite as violent as Gage’s match with Cardona this weekend, but it was close. Jericho bladed a ton, which is a more controlled bleeding obviously, but he got a shitload of glass shards cutting up his back too. In the end though, Gage jobs to Cardona and Jericho within 5 days of each other. I think that’s a street cred killer. But we got to see the greatest advertising campaign in wrestling history: a Domino’s commercial aired picture-in-picture as Gage repeatedly sliced Jericho with a pizza cutter. Gage needs that exclusive endorsement deal!

MJF announced that Labor #3 will be the return of…Juventud Guerrera!  That doesn’t seem quite as intimidating. I can’t imagine what this guy looks like 20 years later.

Meltzer and PWInsider are already both reporting that Nick Gage’s appearance tonight is not likely to be a one-off and the plan was always for him to be back. MJF is trash-talking him on Twitter for not getting the job done, so I think it’s safe to say he’ll be back as a babyface getting his shots in at MJF.  AEW has to be thrilled with the crowd reaction and Twitter buzz that Gage provided. He was received like a huge star.

I think indy star Gran Akuma probably said it best: “Jericho/Gage over delivered and then some. For years we've seen major league companies bring in people with a big underground following, strip them of what makes them special, and then act like they're nothing special. This ruled because Nick Gage got to be Nick Gage.”

Funny you say this.  Juvi randomly popped up on my Instagram feed because I follow Jericho and he mentioned something about a very old match they were involved in.  Juvi looked decent, in solid shape, but I can't imagine he can move the way he did.  But then again, Jericho doesn't even look like himself physically anymore and he does just fine.  I bet they have a better match than he had with Gage.
