Forgot he even had it, not sure he's defended it since winning it.  But he's decided not to compete over Covid season so they've stripped him of the title.

There's going to be a tournament for a new champion.  Wonder why they bothered giving him the title in the first place.  And a bit different to the whole Jordan Devlin interim title thing.

How he wasn't released is beyond me. Not a knock but they seem to really dislike him and he seems to not give one fuck about it.

So they are stripping the cruiserweight (who defeated their current Universal Champion) of the Intercontinental Title.  What a disaster.  In the last 5 weeks, they've lost all of these folks:

Becky Lynch -  Raw Women's champ for over a year, pregnant

Roman Reigns - Wrestlemania challenger for the Universal title

Brock Lesnar - Not coming back until crowds do (according to the rumor)

Goldberg - Universal champion who was unhappy about booking and not scheduled to return (according to rumor)

Sami Zayn - Current Intercontinental champion who isn't coming to work

Two titles stripped in three days.  Brutal.

It's clearly a punishment.  Devlin can't defend the title due to travel restrictions, Zayn is choosing not to.  And Vince already thinks he's annoying and wrote that into his character for a while.  Then you have Zayn's political posts, which basically no one else in WWE does and has to drive Vince crazy.

I missed all of zayn’s ROH and NXT run and only seen bits and pieces of his main roster stuff. Does he have a bag of impressive work like Bryan or is he just an interchangeable piece in the machine?

He's not Daniel Bryan, but he was very, very good in ROH and NXT.  Start by watching Steen/Generico vs. the Briscoes in ladder war and then the Generico vs. Steen feud.  It's basically ECW at ECW's best, both from a storytelling and hardcore wrestling perspective.

I know why Zayn is home, and can't report it. It's a very good reason, and is not punishment.

I just wish they would be more consistent, as they have one title being 'interim' and then the other isn't.

Some yahoo is probably sending him death threats because he's outspoken against Trump.

Judging by the mysterious tone of Greg's post, it's clearly AIDS.  It seems like unprofessional journalism to me that he would start such a nasty rumor.  Bret Hart was right about him.

I didn't even know Goldberg still wrestled.

Hang on, you're not wrong.  He can only do one move now, so I'm not sure that constitutes as "wrestling."  But yeah, he drops in every couple of years and wins the Universal title right before WrestleMania.

Lesnar and Goldberg weren’t going to be around again until Summerslam anyway. And Lesnar will probably wind up doing that show anyway. Zayn is barely a blip on the radar the way he was booked. But Reigns and Lynch not holding down the fort on TV week in and week out is brutal. There’s some dude named Brendan Vink who’s getting serious TV time. These Covid shows are a disaster.

And it's not the good AIDS either. You know, where you catch it banging 3 hot hookers in Las Vegas on a great coke binge. No, it's the bad kind of AIDS. Where you get it after being thrown in jail on a Friday for unpaid parking tickets and have to wait until Monday to see the judge, meanwhile over the weekend you're violently ass-raped by a well hung black man. Good AIDS/Bad AIDS.

Also Sammy Zayn has never impressed me.

Will the tournament be held in Brazil?
