In chapter 47356 of "TNA Fucks Everything Up", they decided to put the title on Blanchard and let her keep it even though her contract runs out on 30 June.  In the meantime she ends up in Mexico with her boyf and cannot defend the title.
TNA asked her to cut some remote promos and she, well, didn't.

So the solution is to strip the title from someone who should never have had it in the first place, making every single wrestler in TNA look a total arsewipe.

I'm not sure how this one is Impact's fault.  She won the title pre-Covid and then everything shut down.  She refused to travel, but then also refused to tape promos.  How the fuck could anyone have foreseen any of that?  She never should've been given the World title, but that part is irrelevant.  You'd think she'd be thankful that they made her the first female World champion even after all the bullying stuff came out on her the day of her win, but instead she decided to quit on the company when they needed her most.  Fuck her.  I hope AEW doesn't pick her up, although I suspect they will.

I don't think she was every going to re-sign, and was probably supposed to lose the title at Redemption. Personally, I didn't see any problem with her winning the title, and her matches with the men were pretty decent. Unless she is being help hostage by a drug cartel, there is and was nothing stopping her as a US citizen returning to the US, and not to tape some promos while under contract is bullshit. Absolutely no blame can be attached to Impact here. She just seems like a terrible person to do business with. I don't see any compelling reason for AEW to sign her. She's shown herself to be unprofessional, and will screw over AEW as well given the chance.

I completely agree, but the SJWs on Twitter are trying to start the narrative that Tessa was fired for refusing to put her life in danger by traveling to the PPV.  That is bullshit and they were more than patient with her, and refusing to cut a promo from home is the equivalent of me refusing to answer my work e-mails from home.  We're "working from home" and this is a reasonable request for an employee.  She's a complete trainwreck as a human being, it seems.  A shame, because she really was the best non-WWE American female wrestler out there.

They haven't even fired her. They are just saying that they aren't going to attempt to extend her contract when it expires, and therefore are stripping her of the title. It happens a lot, but normally you can get someone to lose the title in the ring before they leave. Impact can't risk their champion turning up on someone else's TV next week.

They have had weeks to do something about it but instead let the clock run down.   Use the 30 day rule and say the title is suspended, but she would be treated as champion when it re-started.
Or, not put the title on someone known to be difficult...

But on July 1 she won't be an Impact wrestler. That fact was never going to change. She wasn't re-signing. They thought that they had an agreement for her to work one more match at Slamiversary to drop the title in the ring, but with her ghosting them, they have cut their losses. There was no way out of this but to strip the title. I don't think she had a Shawn Michaels-esque reputation of refusing to drop titles in the ring, so I don't see what they did wrong. If you just don't like intergender wrestling, that's fine, many people agree with you, but Impact didn't do anything wrong, especially in the current circumstances.

I agree.  When all this Covid stuff started, they wanted to move forward with Tessa.  They did the first (and what turned out to be only) remote interview with her and defended her decision to not travel.  The heels bashed her for it as heels do, and the company put her over.  They then had to tape a shit-ton of content, all moving towards the direction of building to one more match at Slammiversary, expecting to keep her involved in the show by inserting her promos.  There is absolutely nothing wrong with that approach.  She just simply refused to do it, which is breach of contract if you ask me.  She was still under contract when she was asked to do these things. There was never going to be a scenario, while still under contract or not, for her to return to drop the title in the ring, earlier than Slammiversay given Covid and her own unwillingness to do anything even from home.  What could Impact have done?  Inserted a promo a week or two ago stripping her?  It doesn't make much difference.

This will make her, what, the second most famous wrestling World champion to be stripped of their title for being out of contract on July 1st?

Wow, I thought the last time they brought her in she acted like such a cunt that they didn’t want her back.

Jim Cornette says that AEW needs to hire Tessa, put the women’s belt on her, and fire anyone who refuses to work with her. And if they can’t do that, they should shut the whole division down.

Tessa Blanchard says she's in talks with the NWA but so far nothing has happened yet and obviously she didn't show up at EmPowerrr, which was the logical place for her to debut. She says there's no interest by WWE, AEW, or even most indies and she feels like she's been almost completely blackballed from the industry.  She's been told she has nuclear heat and is untouchable.  She hasn't even had 5 matches since Covid started and she refused to drop her Impact title.  She and her boyfriend Daga, who has also received almost no bookings lately, mostly live in Mexico, but can't get work in AAA or CMLL either.

Jim Cornette is now beyond parody. I gave his review of the All In cage match a listen to see what he had to say. He has ridiculous nicknames for everyone so ony his followers could possibly know who he's talking about. Whether it's a work or not, the wrestling industry has left Cornette behind.

And if Cornette was in charge of AEW today, he absolutely would not hire Tessa. He booked angles for SMW that he knew would get over with the hillbillies who bought tickets. Tessa would get booed out the building by AEW fans, and that heat would be on the promotion. It doesn't matter how good she is.
