I'm pretty sure his real name was Randall Berry Orton, rather than Barry. Named for Ralph "Wild Red" Berry.

Tom Cole and now Barry O. Is Vince trying to clean up some business before he goes?

If anything, it’s drudging up old memories that Vince would rather leave buried. No one had talked about these guys for a couple of decades before this month.

Barry O worked most of the syndicated shows in the mid 80s, but for some reason I always associate him with the old All-Star tapings out of Brantford before the repackaging to Wrestling Challenge. Gorilla and Jesse would be on the call, and it seemed like Barry O would have a match every week, usually teaming with Johnny K-9 or Moondog Rex. Who was the ring announcer for those tapings? He always reminded me on Tommy Miller of the NWA.

Definitely a good hand though. Orton always made the faces look like a million bucks. RIP.

Norm Kimber was the All-Star ring announcer, and he also did many Maple Leaf Gardens cards.  Physically he compares to Tom Miller, but I wouldn't say vocally that was the case.

I don’t know, I always thought Norm kinda had that gravely voice comparable to Tommy, obviously minus the southern drawl. I’ll have to go back and check him out again.

Norm also worked across the border, in Buffalo.
In high school, mid 80s, my friends and I would often imitate Barry O whenever we had to fart, letting it rip at the moment our finger tips touched over our heads.  The stupid shit you remember...

Was a curtain jerker in Mid-South using the Barry Orton name.

Had a tour with brother Bob in Japan as the Masked Gaspar Brothers. Had no idea until I ran across footage of them over there.

Barry O’s O hand gesture and Barry Horowitz’s pat on the back are the two best jobber hand signals ever. I did them both all the time as a kid.
