Gresham is now billing himself as the ROH Pure World Champion, with the belt he won at Final Battle, while Bandido is going to defend the belt he never lost as the ROH World Heavyweight Champion.

Josh Woods is the Pure champion so that doesn’t make much sense. If ROH ever relaunches and can get them booked, then Gresham vs. Bandido is the obvious match to come back with.

Quite impressive that a promotion with 0 wrestlers under contract has 3 world champions.

Gresham now defending against 2 Cold Scorpio for the belt at a GCW show on Jan. 15. The ROH title is being defended 10 times as often now that the company has gone out of business than before.

ROH should spend a couple of bucks and buy the footage from these promotions or send a camera guy and use these to air on TV as well as any other title defenses that happen between now and the restart. I'm not glad ROH ran into trouble or that they are taking a few months off to reset but they really needed something to happen to freshen up. I've been muscling thru shows off and on for a few years now waiting for something interesting and its never happened. Maybe not having long term contracts and running with the hot hand can do that for them. Is the weekly tv show off the air now, or are they going to do a bunch of Best of Shows till they reboot?

Last week was a “top prospect” edition of the show, featuring unknowns. This week was their usual Christmas 10-man tag with randomly drawn teams. Neither show is of any consequence and both were taped before Final Battle. I imagine next week will be a Best Of 2021 show and then the TV show is off the air.

I believe the episode that just dropped on Fite TV with the Christmas 10-man tag is actually the last episode. They’re saying goodbye basically. I don’t think they’re doing a Best Of and are ending it with the last week of 2021.

Meltzer is reporting that Impact is likely to re-sign, or already has, Mike Bennet and Maria Kanellis. Bennett previously had a run in TNA in 2016-2017, winning the X Division title. They canceled an indy appearance that conflicted with Impact tapings in early 2022. This would prematurely end Bennett’s run in the NWA and it would leave Matt Taven in limbo.

If they pulled this shit, the way they did a few years back when they pulled all of their talent from ROH due to them being "competition", it would keep workers from wanting to pull their payday from Impact. It's not like they are running enough of a promotion that they can afford to pay full time wages to the talent. They are pretty much only running TV tapings and an odd PPV. If they want to cut off their nose to spite their face, they'll pull that type of shit with Bennett and Kenellis. Otherwise it will be business as usual.

ROH has apparently closed shop on providing new content for their website today. What appears to be final pieces were posted on NYE. ROH aired the final installment of Flip Gordon's angle where he's throwing a 2019 NYE party because he has amnesia. In the final scene, Flip is wondering where everyone is and the lights go out. https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_continue=368&v=jZhm8fbZRSM&feature=emb_logo Caprice Coleman also wrote his final blog on the site: I want to thank Ring of Honor for giving me this platform to inspire others. In my 11 years here, they've kept their promise in allowing me to be me. This is the core of Ring of Honor; creative freedom and unforced ideas. I am a black Christian athlete unashamed of my culture and faith. This has been a hangup for some in the past because I have no problem with saying no and walking away with my head up. The world has changed for the better right in front of my eyes. Now we live in a world in which anything is possible. Eyes and doors are open for all. Some believe this is it for Ring of Honor. It’s not. Even if it was, there’s solidarity in knowing that if they were going down, they were going down swinging for us, the talent. Thank you for letting us entertain and hopefully inspire or challenge you. Now I take the walk into uncertainty knowing certainly that I am going to be fine and fully expecting great things in the future. I also want to thank you, the reader, for supporting my articles; some of you've supported me throughout my career. Until we meet again. I love you all, and yes, God is still good. Please keep an eye out for me and my future endeavors. Just something to think about. I call it a dose of Colemanism. #ADoseOfColemanism

Carey Silkin is backstage at Dynamite tonight and has posed for pics with Tony Khan. Doesn’t necessarily mean anything beyond a visit given he was mostly a figurehead at the end of ROH, but interesting.

It didn't get much publicity, but I'm sure most have heard by now that there was an ROH "invasion" angle at Impact's Hard to Kill PPV. The regularly scheduled match was ROH champion Jonathan Gresham successfully defending the title in a pure rules match against Chris Sabin, which had been previously advertised. There was a great callback here as Sabin earned an ROH title shot in 2018 that he never cashed in before leaving, so he finally got it. Commentator Ian Riccaboni and ring announcer Bobby Cruise were used for the match. But then later in the show, an ROH faction comprised of Matt Taven, Mike Bennett, Maria Kanellis, PCO, and Vincent jumped the rail and attacked everyone after a 10-man hardcore match. Scott D'Amore was flustered backstage and said he was going to "call Baltimore" and find out what their problem is. The angle continued at the TV tapings that will air over the next few weeks with the faction attacking commentator D-Lo Brown and other wrestlers. So it seems that Impact and ROH are fully working together for the time being. Of course the talents are all free to work wherever they want at this point, but Impact wouldn't be able to use the ROH name and title without a working agreement.

Bryan Alvarez reported that the deal with anyone promoting an ROH title match is that they have to make the footage available for ROH to use. I don't know if this counts for both Gresham and Bandido, or just Gresham. I think ROH TV is continuing right now, and these matches will be on the show. He also said that only the World title, women's title and tag title are going to continue, and that the Pure, TV and 6-Man titles are being retired.
