Tony Khan tweeted today that the Briscoes will face FTR at Supercard of Honor.

I’ll be very curious to see who wins that match. If the Briscoes lose, it might be a very bad sign for them as far as future bookings go once the titles are off of them.  But at least there will finally be a payoff to this online feud. I wish it had been announced on Dynamite and not in a tweet because AEW is doing nothing to promote this show or this company so far.

Jay Lethal vs. Lee Moriarty has been added to Supercard of Honor, obviously both on loan from AEW.

Why is everyone fucking crazy these days? I always liked Gabe Sapolsky, but this message...Jesus Christ.

"Since I see classic Ring Of Honor is getting more attention I want to take a moment and apologize for my “in character” commentary. I’ll start by saying I fired myself from commentary as soon as we found a suitable replacement.

It was another era back then. It might be hard to believe but it was hard to find decent commentators who would work the hours we did. We used to do commentary on 2 shows staying up all night on a weeknight in Tampa, FL. Budget was also a concern & I wanted to save Cary $

At the time, ROH was just a growing indie. It’s not like people were clamoring to stay up till 5am to do voiceovers in a living room in Tampa. We went through various commentators and eventually I didn’t cost any extra money as I was there anyway to edit/produce.

I also knew the storylines, directions & characters. Thankfully, we eventually found Lenny Leonard, who lived in the area, and Dave Prazak. We booked Prazak in FIP and combined the expenses to fly him in. They were a great team & still are. They gave us stability.

My commentary skills ranged from bad to embarrassing to deplorable. There were times I tried to do a Howard Stern influenced character (big in the early 2000s) & had an ECW influence. I apologize for anyone having to hear it now.

As you can see from years of EVOLVE, my values and standards changed to being much more family friendly without trying to be “edgy” in a 90s style.

Can someone please ask Tony Khan to see if he can edit out my commentary or at least the worst parts of it. I’m not sure if that’s possible. Maybe he has the original master tapes. I don’t know. I hope my commentary doesn’t ruin people’s enjoyment of classic ROH. Thank you

For the record, I don’t know Tony Khan and have never talked to him. However, I know a lot of people who do know him so feel free to pass on the message :)"

He's incredibly smart by getting in front of this because he's worried that with AEW taking over it will increase the exposure to the product.  So by getting in front of it, people can't take a giant shit on him and try to cancel him.  Yes he's being a giant puss for doing this but that's kinda the idea these days, you can't own any of your negative statements because people on social media don't care, they just want to hurt others and take the focus off of themselves.

He's actually highlighting a situation that is unlikely to really come to light, and the statement is so awkward it's hard to tell if he's worried about specific comments he made or if it's just his bad commentary he's concerned about.  But you can bet for sure people will try to dig up something on him now by combing through those old tapes.  I don't even remember him doing a "Howard Stern" character, and I watched all those shows.  But find a way to go through proper channels instead of dumping that out there online, and don't expect Tony Khan to do an expensive editing job on a tape library not even in his physical possession yet.

I bet the very first match of the first ROH show never sees the light of day. The Christopher Street Connection gimmick wasn't great even at the time, but you'd never get away with it today. And the gimmick was also awful, so it's definitely a hill to die on in preserving ROH history. Then again it could fly completely under the radar like lots of attitude era stuff does. Eventually stuff like "Sweet Jesus she's got a penis" will offend someone and be deleted as an example.

A match for the interim womens title between Willow Nightingale and Mercedes Martinez has been added to Supercard of Honor. I'd fully expect Martinez to win that then turn up later in the evening to answer the Perruzzo challenge and win the ROH Women's Title.

There is so much wrestling going on this weekend. Without even watching any of the WWE stuff, there's more that I want to watch than I have time for. Almost every show has a good line-up. Some guys are going to have 4 star matches that hardly anyone sees and no one remembers because it will get lost in amongst Al the high profile stuff.

I'm gonna try and watch Supercard of Honor, Rampage, Impact Multiverse show and the HOF. After that, I'll likely watch Mania on FF and maybe some of the NXT show. But there's some good stuff billed on the GCW shows as well as matches here and there on other shows that I would watch any other week.

Why do they need an interim champion when Purrazzo is the champion?

I didn’t realize it was at the same time. I’d be pissed if I was ROH that the company gave her the belt during hiatus and announced that she’d be defending it and now she’s double-booked. I know there are a lot of extenuating circumstances here, but this show was always scheduled even before AEW bought it.

The Impact show starts two hours after the ROH show, so the Briscoes will be able to wrestle on both shows. Purrazzo could have wrestled on both shows, but given her "champ champ" open challenge gimmick right now, this makes more sense in the story. As I said, I fully expect Martinez to win the title on the Impact show. I don't really know what the recovery rate is for a wrestler, but it's gonna be tough for the Briscoes to wrestle FTR then the Good Brothers a couple of hours later.

Why in the hell would you have Lethal and Yuta lose two days before this card on prime time TV? Yuta especially since he will be in a title match. Not mention Strickland losing last week.

While they are separate promotions , they are owned by the same guy. Khan can't make a habit of doing stupid booking like this much longer. Right now, AEW TV is ROH TV.
