I don't know about that, especially if it's a 6-man tag. You'd have be a bit soft-brained to be disappointed that two senior citizens can't match their performances in their peak from 33 years ago.

There's only one opponent who could work a match with Flair and make it something that's tolerable to watch:

George South

You'd probably have to be equally soft-brained to want to see it though.

I get what you're saying.  My point is that once all of the talking and promoting is finished and we see these guys in the ring together, it will be natural to instinctively go back in our mind and remember the greatest of the '84, '89, or '94 matches, and then immediately come back to reality and see two guys so far past their prime that it's scary from a health standboint.  I feel like that outweighs the novelty of actually seeing them in the ring together again after 30 years.  I don't expect people to be rating the match based on a star-basis, but I hate to see Flair hobbling around in a t-shirt and Steamboat's hair transplants getting ripped out.

I'd love to see Steamboat and Flair do a face-to-face Q&A on stage and take questions from the crowd, maybe do a live watch-along of one of their old matches.  I think Conrad has the Horsemen all booked on stage together to do something similar.

You don't see many baseball old timer's games anymore.  They were popular back in the 70s and 80s.  I wonder if the rationale on that is the same.   It was rough seeing favorites out there on the field way past their prime, even if it was just an exhibition.  I don't know.

Steamboat already had the perfect comeback. He looked fantastic against Jericho and that 10-man tag from Raw which I think was his last match was an incredible way to go out and both the fans and wrestlers in that match were clearly appreciative to be in there with him. He has nothing left to prove and doesn’t have the thirst for attention that Flair has.

Sadly I think Funk is in very bad shape these days.

On his Facebook page which I think is authorized since it has booking contact info on it and it's where the Flair Jay Lethal training stuff was first posted, Flair posted a montage of him taking the top rope slam saying it will "definitely happen" at the match

So he’s advertising that he’s going to intentionally attempt a move that will be reversed?  Kayfabe!

He should hit everything in his final match that is usually reversed; Finally set the record straight.

As a babyface Flair used to hit a crossbody or single-arm axe handle off the top rope all the time, although some swear they never saw him succeed up there. It was only in his late WWE years that even as a face he started to get caught all the time up there because he was doing all his “greatest hits” every match. But he used to only get caught as a heel during most of the ‘80s.

I was playing off Ric Flair saying in his podcasts that he never won and that everything was reversed.

Yeah he’s pretty bad off from what I’ve also heard.

Yeah...if you want a Funk to wrestle Flair, it's going to be Dory.  He's 81 and would make Flair the young upstart.

I keep thinking of entertainers whose last appearances were an ideal way to have them cap off their career.  Flair definitely had his in 2008 with the sendoff right after WM24 with Shawn Michaels.   Don Rickles had a great TV special where many comedians and a full house came out to pay their respects and roasted him too, only to get their comeuppance at the end by a sharp-witted, althoush not able-bodied, Rickles.
