Let me start off by apologizing for the unwieldy format. "Icebergs" have gained in popularity online over the past few years. The subject matter can be virtually anything. The premise is the items at the "top" of the Iceberg is generally common knowledge to anyone with an interest in the subject. As it goes down the Iceberg, the items become more and more obscure and difficult to research. This redditor did an amazingly in-depth iceberg on pro wrestling. It must have taken him months to complete it. If you're into this kind of thing I just ruined your Sunday. To research everything on here would take months. It's a fun little exercise that crosses back and forth between batshit crazy conspiracy theories and little known factoids that haven't been well researched. Have fun and buckle up.

I’m not exactly sure what to do with this. I know most of them, but are we supposed to Google some of the others? Signs before things actually happened and time travel conspiracies, I’m not sure what I’d be looking for or if it’s worth it.

My favorite one is the In Your House 29. It should be much more near the bottom than it is. The story goes that the WWF had actually had this PPV but it was never released commercially and very, very few copies of it existed. One guy managed to get his hands on one and saw it had only two matches on it. A 20 man Battle Royal and a Kane vs. Mankind Exploding Barbed Wire Match. Nothing too unbelievable right? So the guy watches it, the Battle Royal was strictly by the numbers. The Kane/Mankind match was pretty run of the mill. The ending called for Kane to pick up Mankind and throw him into the flames. Foley did this stuff all the time. However, this time it was different. Mankind is screaming horribly. He landed wrong and actually caught fire. You could see his skin literally melting off of him. Bone was exposed. Jim Ross of all people was able to grab a fire extinguisher and put the fire out but Mankind didn't move at all. Fade to black. It seems that this match had been recorded years before. Mankind was NOT originally going to be Mick Foley but a lesser known wrestler who they were going to give a huge push too. He died from his burns and when Foley came in they decided to give him the Mankind gimmick. This is top quality stuff if you ask me.

I think it would be more interesting if the obvious nonsense was filtered out and we were left with only verified weird shit. Like you said, whoever put this together did tons of research, but it’s useless if he includes both the crazy and the real. Like the Owen Hart autographed ticket stub from Over the Edge is creepy as fuck and could theoretically exist if he met a fan before the show, but I’d have to spend hours if I wanted to research the veracity of that along with any of the other items of interest on this list.

Wrestling has had completely forgotten high profile stories which are probably mindblowing, like Teodor Sztekker, who probably tried to murder at least one wrestler and/or official, only to be murdered himself. Randolph Turpin (a boxing champ!), Gorilla Grubmeyer and who knows how many proto-Benoits. And how the fuck is Johnny Walkers rape charge hard to research? You'd have to be illitaterate for it to be hard. I am kinda intrigued by some names, but probably in vain. There is weird shit to stumble over. Like, I think an alleged Georgia TV jobber shot his wife in their driveway around 1983. Couldn't find anything about his alleged wrestling career though
