At least until someone offers him more to do a 'final match'

July 31. Tickets go on sale tomorrow. No opponent yet.

What happened to the tag match w the mystery opponent?

Will be on PPV.

Ric seems confident that 9,000 people live in Nashville and whoever he can convince to buy the PPV will see something special.   As I see this, it's a mix of Randy the Ram and Buddy Young, Jr. from Mr. Saturday Night.   As David Paymer told Billy Crystal in the latter film: "You are WHERE you are because of WHO you are."

Well they upgraded venues because they believe the demand will be higher than originally anticipated, so if they don’t sell out someone made a major miscalculation. It’ll be interesting to see how this does.

The press conference was just posted earlier. This is a hell of a dive if you have time to watch Flair answer questions. This is all basically Conrad living out his fantasy of being a wrestling promoter.

Last match until the next "last match"

Flair is such a carny he likes books a casket match at his own funeral.

I hope the mystery opponent is Joe Biden in a “hearing-aid-on-pole-match”.

Flair is so emotionally broken that there is going to be a letdown 100 times greater than the HBK WM retirement match after this is all over. They’re building this up to be the greatest event of all time. Flair’s like an addict. Conrad is feeding him the drug right now. The hangover or the come-down is going to be hard. Going to be a hell of a movie or book years from now when it’s all said and done. I still say he’s going out like a supernova.

The icing on the cake is going to be when Flair sues Conrad in some type of dispute over pay after this event is over. Mark it down, it will happen. These two are going to fall out hard and Flair won’t think twice about trying to squeeze his son-in-law for every dime he’s worth.

Is there even half a rumor as to Flair’s opponent?

I wonder if Conrad is waiting to see how many tickets he thinks he can sell and work out who he can afford. I think the scale goes from George South to Hulk Hogan.

If they get someone like South, there will be serious problems. It’s harder to pull that carny bullshit these days.

Is Sting interested in doing something like this? I know Steamboat told them to GTFO.

If I was AEW, I would not let Sting anywhere near this mess.
